Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Can we get one more layoff in before RTO

Let's do one more round of layoffs this week. Round and round the layoff wheel goes, where it stops, no one knows! Who will be the lucky winner.

Tech only wants previous Chase employees. They should just say it in the job posting to save everyone else time.

I don't think this company cares about productivity or collaboration. If any these companies cared about these things they would understand how detrimental office culture is for a lot of folks. The commute, the office politics and mind games, lack of work life balance, these companies would take all this into consideration and make changes to the office. But, all these companies want is to take us back to the mess. Collaboration is a bs excuse. I don't collaborate with anyone and no one collaborates with me. There are people who waste my time and talk my ear off about nothing. There are people who spread gossip. There are a lot of people who play d-mb to get out of doing anything so no collaboration with those folks. Other people want you to "help" them which really means they want you to do it for them.

Today, I had to meet with someone by phone that I haven't had to deal with for quite some time and got a good dose of everything that I left in the office 2 years ago. RTO means I will have to deal with this person face to face daily. This individual caused me much stress while in the office. I'm not looking forward to any of this. I'm getting depressed just thinking about it.

There was a group laid off last week; moved their work to the Philippeans. (I know i spelled that wrong). No hint that it was coming. I got it directly from the manager who was also ax'd.

If I am not paid - handsomely - for my overtime I will keep a strict eye on the clock. No work before start time no work after my end time. Not available any other times anymore. That was a benefit that was granted to WF when I could WFH.

Execs motto lately is “ do more with less”- I am also not planning to jump up and down for extra effort. I’ve noticed that my immediate manager is already pushing for us to be ready to put in extra hours even with RTO. I have a feeling that all managers will be squeezing as much as they can out of us. And this is on top of attrition shortage and everything else that they would come up with. Their tool to make us do things is mid-year and end-year reviews and bonuses (that are not guaranteed (they never were)…)

Newer market perhaps? In new markets they often blanket an area with stores and keep them open for a while, then close and centralize to the ones that get the most business.

It's going to be fun watching the people clamoring to go back, especially one group that will be under heavy monitoring and heavy repercussions for breaking rules. They are going to be watching very closely for about two weeks, then you'll see.

Productivity will take a big hit with RTO. I will definitely NOT be going the extra mile (no pun intended :)) to work any harder to compensate for lost work time due to the drive and all the other idi-t nonsense our leadership is pushing.

they are opening branch after branch in the area I live in, but people say they are closing? Maybe those markets are not profitable and they are moving where there is more business

Attrition will skyrocket over the next month or two due to the forced RTO plan by the tone-deaf boomer executives. This was their hope all along.

Tech has 4200 positions open

Ok , 4199 of them are in India but Tech is hiring!

Attrition in my group is very high and close to the point of us not being able to execute the mission. No need for layoffs until India has more expertise then it will be brutal. Yes tech is affected.

A specific type of whiner is going to win.

Why on earth would they do that?

The time is right to see if the attrition plan will bear fruit. Layoffs now would just be throwing money away.
