Thanks for the link... excellent write up. I'm retired from IBM, but I used to work for one of those 'plug-compatibles'. I witnessed the first big layoffs in the 90s. My IBM friends were in disbelief. They were used to the overstaffing and the 'nobody got fired' mantra. I will not be surprised when IBM is dropped from the Dow Industrials as the handwriting is on the wall on IBM's future.
IBM has done a lot of good in the world. It’s a shame that most people on here have such a negative opinion because for whatever their ills, ibm provided a good life to many tens of thousands of employees. To them I guess it sort of felt like the center of the universe. Secks in the tush.
