I am under so much stress and pressure, the layoff has become my least concern here.... I am much more worried about what I will do and how I will continue working here if I do not find a new job soon... In addition, I think that most people here do not care so much about the layoffs as how to endure the situation here until they find a new job.

If it isn't your concern then why are you on a layoff page OP? Just another union waahh waahh post.
Verizon is a joke retail is over time to move on. Use what you know and apply it to other jobs. So many opportunities just start applying and go for which one that makes you happy. You can research culture and what the job provides by doing some google searching. Your mental health is not worth an entry level job.
Man the F' up....do your job or move on.
