Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

With a 3% Raise, increased healthcare payment and loss of DTV discount..

I’m actually getting paid LESS than last year. Maybe one day I can lift above the bottom of tier 1. No I am not on the high end, I am at the very bottom, and I exceeded all expectations so that’s not why my raise was low.

OP did the right thing, questioning his/her raise. The seed has been planted, next year the boss will remember how he was challenged on the raise. The boss will think twice about lowballing OP, realizing he will be faced with another challenge, and give him/her the appropriate raise in pay.

I'm the OP: Spoke to new manager (another story of woe there), had a "compensation audit". Supposedly, I'm fairly paid for the position and Geozone. However, I was not allowed to see the audit data (which has no names or identifying information btw), so time to look elsewhere. So, yes, I questioned it. The story is as I told it. Meanwhile, Stankey enjoyed a mere 18% raise. $23,000,000 + stock options, incentives, benefits after working with Stephenson to run this company into ridiculous debt. It boggles the mind. Time to look elsewhere and just do the bare minimum to get a bonus. What's the point of exceeding and excellence?

you can't control what is out of your hands but you can control your actions. I suggest you quit.

Strange. It's almost like ATT lost a bunch of money and can't afford to pay you more this year. Did something change in the business that decreased overall revenue?

I do the bare minimum! I don't go out of my way for my customers anymore nor do I care what quality of work I provide. T drew first blood here by slashing our benefits package and now I get to dictate the terms!

Just enough to come to work and not quit!

Go ask your "team" to give some up.
You know, you're a team mate of theirs after all.

Maybe you didn't collaborate enough.
I'd just do less work.

Something isn't correct here. If you were truly rated at "exceeds" you'd have gotten more than 3% this year. Should have been at least 4%, especially if you're toward the lower end of TSR. Something's not adding up with this story.

If you are not within the 45-65 %tile of your band you need to talk to your boss and ask why not. If your review was good. 3% is pretty good raise as my last 5 years never saw more than 2.

been at my present company 3 years and already making more than I was att after 15 years.

wish I left att long ago what a waste of ones life.

glad I got the pension lump sum it is making more money than if att still had it and who knows how att would try to get out of paying their pension in the future with the decisions senior management has made and how they love to buy high and sell low.

Since the U spent $$$(from their members dues) to support uncle joe I’m sure they’ll step up & cover for the inflation costs that the company won’t cover in the next labor agreement.

If you exceeded expectations, it's time for a one on one with your manager. Something doesn't smell right. Not sure where you are with regard to your teams payscale.
