@1zpu likes to talk in the 3rd person. No Saul, teams became "dysfunctional" after you came in and screwed everything up.

They never did, why would it be different after they fired QA?

Typical shortsightedness of the failed Chase upper management.

Did anyone ask him where their boxes are containing all of their belongings moved from one building to another and nowhere to be found. It probably would have been a better outcome if they had hired homeless off the street rather than Service West.

This company is the lowest.

@1iut, the waving goodbye and saying bye bye gets me every time. He is like a 10 year old.

Unless you’re rendering 3D, chances are the processors are just fine for nearly all office work. Blame random restarts on not staying connected to pulse because you should remain connected all night long.

If you only knew all the handcuffs put on the tech people trying their hardest to make the hobbled together patchwork systems we’re handed. It’s incredibly frustrating to have to listen to all the people coming from other banks to find out all the sh-t we deal with isn’t due to regulatory needs but just an excuse to keep us quiet. Lately 8’ve been looking to leave mostly because of how painful it is to get anything accomplished around here.

@2ajb+1fOtcSGK the SvB defender lower in the responses said so - he also absolutely did tell us that we were NOT going to follow the enterprise plan until Scott P said - uh, yeah you are, and then SvB pretended like he never said otherwise.

@2gqd+1fOtcSGK don’t mistake the sh-t, low spec equipment and bloated processes and configurations for the people who keep it running. Without the people working in tech you’d really know what a house of cards your day is based on.

@2dvm+1fOtcSGK - Tech is what slows us down most days. The random restarts at 10:00 AM when we’re already well in to our day, the processors on laptops that can’t keep up, unmapped shared drives that don’t connect after 3-4 restarts. It’s a fu----g pain. Check yourself.

@1zpu+1fOtcSGK, not sure where you got this idea of SvB going “to the mat for technology”. We knew that our WFH days were numbered when it was announced that he accepted the job. In his previous role, he was against remote work.

32,000 = 10% of 277,000?

@1msa+1fOtcSGK The 10% that makes the whole bank possible. Try doing your front of back office jobs without your tech. Oh, yeah, you can’t.

Thank you! Not sure why the feel the need to be di-ks about it. We don't have any AMA meetings in my part of the bank so I am not familiar with it.

@2gwm+1fOtcSGK Oh! I forgot - he “went to the mat for IT on RTO” until he had to walk that sh-t back and pretended like he never said it to begin with.

@1zpu+1fOtcSGK Tell me what he’s done for Tech that we should all be so grateful for his presence?

Push to India? Push to Cloud without budget? Push to “go faster” with archaic processes and tech? Push to “upskill” as if we’re all without skill now? Push to ServiceNow that is still rippling bad data through processes and systems? Push to Workday that’s doing the same? The revolving door of senior management? The musical chairs of what’s left in senior management? Shall I go on?

But sure, revere us all with your tales of how IT is the dysfunctional team, not its leadership.

@1txu, AMA = Ask Me Anything. I assume Mr. Cool is Saul Van Buren, head of Technology. The people who downvoted you are probably in Tech. The way they post here - failing to provide context on anything (Although what AMA means is common knowledge these days) - you’d never realize they’re only 10% of employees.

People need to stop complaining about Saul. He went to the mat for technology for RTO. We have a very flexible return compared to other areas. He’s said he likes wfh too and still gives AMAs from home. He still has to work within the bank. It’s hard to turn around a dysfunctional team. Maybe the whiners here are the problem.

What does AMA stand for and who is "Mr. Cool?"

The irony of him answering all the RTO questions from his home office was…..something. The Joker smile at the end about how “we are hybrid” was the icing on the cake.

He tried unsuccessfully to talk about / take questions about non RTO related issues but you could sense what the elephant in the room was.

Instead of "let me sip my coffee" , it would be "let me hit this piece of wood with my head" on the next AMA.

Mr. cool looked very tensed, unhappy and no sipping of coffee. I felt overall they are worried on attrition, hiring became a mess, failed RTO and location strategies...etc... all these distresses shown on face. Another big failure is automation and software engineers not showing any interest in testing, otherwise routine AMA.
