Minneapolis Mortgage Campus

I am expected to go into the Mortgage Campus in Minneapolis sometime next week. I have never worked there before. Is it a badge in and out location? How busy has it been this week? Any other tidbits to know about it?

I know that one! Rough crowd in there some days. The Phillips neighborhood has tried to improve itself and include itself in the Uptown atmosphere but seems to unfortunately only attract the worst parts of it.

Vibrant campus. Innovation with RTO. Someone near the water cooler said raising mortgage rates will make the bank more money. You just can’t come up with stuff like that when working remotely.

Reminds me of Auto in Chester PA. They spent so much money to rebuild the pump house into an office building, and on the day they opened they had a huge dr-g house bust across the street. You had to have guards escort you to your car at night. They though other places would flock to the area to revitalize it, and basically no one did.

We had stereos and catalytic converters taken from cars on the street just outside of the building.

Phillips is bad mojo. Remember it was on the news a while back where employees got off work and had bu11et holes in their cars. And that was in broad daylight during the middle of the day.

Uptown includes part of Phillips and LynLake these days. 28th-31st including Lake St. From Calhoun to Midtown Global Market which begins Midtown. Unless you're one of the old school people who thinks it stops at Dupont.

Mortgage Campus is not close to uptown lol! I guess it’s closer to uptown than downtown but still not really near it. It’s off Lake Street exit from 35w. It’s part of the Phillips neighborhood, think Phillips West specifically. I used to live in Whittier (the other side of 35w).

It’s not. Much further south near Uptown. Still very unsafe. Cars get broken into weekly, cops don’t care. Lots of homeless encampments that build up and then are pushed away any time the upper levels come to visit. Weirdos walking through the campus and sleeping in bushes or asking for money. Definitely don’t go north or east of the campus after dark unless you want to get carjacked.

If it's anywhere near that crummy WF office building near Hennepin and LaSalle, across the street from the Greyhound bus station - beware.

I used to work there. It was the only time in my life I carried a G. U. N. at work, and I would escort fellow employees out to the parking lot and make sure they got to their cars.

I got the heck out of there. It was almost 20 years ago, and I don't think that whole area has gotten any better since then.

it is extremely dangerous when dark. Day time, as a male in decent shape, I am not afraid to walk by myself to local restaurants and on the bike path - but I am hyper aware of everyone around me. There are plenty of sketchy people around, and beware under bridges and presumably homeless beyond the paths.

You can request security escort. I would at night/early morning.

It's not a safe area after sunset. Wasn't always like that.

Just use common sense, and don't walk out there alone especially during the summer.

As long as WF is paying for that time, sure.

Or I could be even more responsible than you can comprehend and be prepared ahead of time. Keep on being a miserable human.

Put your adult pants on, get there an hour early and figure it out. You got this far in life, didn't you?

It is badge in and out. It has been semi busy, it depends on which building you are in and the floor you’re on. The cafe when it’s open tends to rotate staff and their skill level varies wildly. Mice in each building. Never seen a ro--h in the building.
