I have long COVID and it is the worst. Mainly severe fatigue. Can't open a bottle. Winded with minor physical activity. I'm in bed by 8. I didn't have these problems before COVID. Doctor doesn't expect me to improve over time. COVID is not just about death, it's about quality of life too. It can take away your ability to do something you enjoy. I'm lucky to be alive, but hate how my life has changed. Take this virus seriously. Google Hong Kong, they're not making COVID jokes.

WITH, not by. Funny thing is, if the feds suddenly started paying for all flu care, and zero COVID care, everyone would be dying "with" flu.

Amazing what hospital admin will do for money these days. They prescribe things purely because the feds give them $ to do so. Anyone giving you remdeathisivr and a vent isn't trying to treat you, they are trying to get that free government money.

Our floor was not notified when we sat in same, short row as person w/COVID (he was unvaxxed and unmasked; said he tested negative but ended up being positive). He's in the hospital now and we're hoping things improve.

We lost a dear neighbor to COVID. On ventilator for several days before dying. No comorbidities. COVID is not the flu or a cold. It is horrific. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional and spreading lies.

Trolls love to spout false facts. Many of those trolls are now dead from COVID.

They do send notifications via email if you are on the same floor

Anyone reading this should post new threads each time there is a known case on their floor/building (within reason to keep yourself anonymous). It'd be terrible PR just after the RTO fiasco to see Wells trying to sweep this under the rug, and people being forced to come to an anonymous layoff forum for information that would impact their own health.

Reporters have posted to this forum asking for leads in the past, so it's not out of the question that it would get attention.

The way the system operates is anyone who tests positive is called by their manager or HR and asked specific questions like: did you cough on anyone, were you within six feet of someone with a mask for longer then 15 mins and talking? Things like that. If they didn’t mention your name during this interview they won’t notify you. I work in branch banking and we have a vault that’s 5x5 big. My teller had no mask and we did a count. This lasted ten mins. HR said that because it was less then 15 mins I didn’t have to be notified. Either way I was negative after the occurrence.

Yes, that is accurate. There is a big difference between COVID and a COVID variant. Increasingly weaker but more contagious variants actually are key to achieving herd immunity.

But nobody has done that. People have correctly pointed out that the three COVID variants have all been minor common cold level infections. And yes, people have died from the common cold and probably always will, but it is not a rational fear.

We are in an endemic state. COVID and variants are now unimportant to all but germaphobes. Real life should not be so scary. It really is ok to live normally again.

To the germaphobes…. I have an interesting question.

Why is it that the germaphobes seem to universally wear the simple cloth masks which have absolutely no protective or spread value instead of the PPE N95 masks. It’s difficult to take your concerns seriously when you’re ignoring the science.

Lots of strong opinions in both ways, but the bottom line is 100MM+ people have had it, but the vast majority of people don’t see a major impact. it isn’t viable to stay in the current pandemic phase.

Schools in our area have also stopped notifying of close contact. Places that used to require masks, now do not. We’re moving into a new phase, get used to it.

I lost my father and my cousin to COVID. Disgusted that anyone would compare it to the flu or cold. TOTAL IGNORANCE.

TOTAL U.S. Flu deaths over the last TEN years = 359,000 - an average of 82 per day. The worst year was the 2017-2018 flu season with 61,000 deaths - an average of 167 per day.

Furthermore, there were more pediatric deaths during the omicron surge than the rest of the pandemic combined.

Asymptomatic breakthrough initial infections can still lead to long COVID, strokes, blood clots, neurological damage, early onset dementia and who knows what other long term health consequences are still to be discovered.

We have as much a right to remain concerned about COVID as you do not to be concerned. Feel free to move on and pretend the pandemic is over if you want, but don’t bully people who remain cautious because they choose to acknowledge the reality that it’s not over and take precautions to keep themselves and their families safe.

Stopping the hysteria is important. We need to make sure that when the flu picks up in the winter like it has done since the beginning of time we don’t revert to masking/shutdowns.

It is time to accept the new endemic phase of this COVID-19 pandemic.

When your fellow employees come to the office with a cold, coughing and blowing their noses in the past, there were no company wide notifications. Such would be senseless.

Don't now expect senseless announcements on one or two COVID-19 infections.

For those who worry, be proactive and do self testing. This way you will not depend on anyone and will be in the know.

Yuck! I asked my senior leader about 2 weeks ago if they were going to try to contact trace if someone comes down with Covid. She said No. ok. The thing that gets me is that on a subsequent Q&A document about RTO, this point was conveniently left off. But the question about bagels and muffins made it in. Go figure. Must be a grey area or something.

Zero liability for Wells Fargo ultimately means let it rip and let God sort it out. Silence is deafening in this case, and the reckless attitude is akin to criminal negligence… or would have been had SCOTUS not struck down Covid workplace mandates. Profit over people.
