Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford SRD 2022

Ford does have way too many employees. Ford can eliminate 35,000 salary and hourly employees and the company can operate as usual. Here are my recommendation to Ford none-value added employees.
Those who are sitting at home, calling into meeting, and has no direct involvement with vehicle parts, components, powertrain, or vehicle build can be cut immediately.
Those who do not have specific responsibility, which Ford does have a lot, can be cut immediately.
PS/Agency without any influence or directly working on the parts can be cut immediately.
Engineers or management who are only working on PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheet can be cut immediately.
Managers with less than 10 direct reports can be cut and consolidate.
Those who are over 55 years of age and have at least 20 years with the company should be offer the buyout package to leave the company.
Good Luck Everyone. Welcome to 2022 SRD.

Sure Senior Leadership demands PPT, understandable that they want to know what is going on. That is not the problem. The problem is the content of the PPT.
If they were factual, accurate and informative then aces. Instead we range from the garden variety tu-d buffing, to wishful thinking, to flat out fabrications.
Here is how it goes in Ford Pass land, the grunts provide truthful data and information to which it then transformed into unrecognizable fantasyland slides. Jeez did we really part the Red Sea, instead of shxtt1ng the bed? Made the mistake of commenting that the slide reality disconnect was quite similar to the ever present Ford wireless disconnects, got a heap of coaching after that comment, so ya know it hit the mark and stung. LOL “Are you with me”? No, but I see right through you bro.
Telling me to have all my friends and family download FordPass from the AppStore and give it a 5 star review? Trying to coerce everyone at my Super Bowl party to download FordPass and give it 5 star review? Not cool bro.

@1kye

The PPT issue should be raised complained about loudly! The company is losing billions because stuff doesn't get done then Ford has endless recalls, and quality issues in the Billions. Ford keeps doing the same thing expecting different results. 1kye, how would you feel if they cut you, and told you, well Ford is losing billions because everyone is wasting time on PPTs that have no value add. Important details get lost/overlooked, try working in warranty you will see things first hand.

I don't want to be cut because the company is loseing profits.

Not to harp on the PPT question, but the reason we are doing them is to communicate to management to have them make 'important' decisions. If we had fewer management, we would do fewer PPTs. What do LL4's do anyway? They seem like an expensive messengers between the directors and the teams doing the work. How about grooming the executive levels? These compensation levels are outragious.

Enough already talking about the PowerPoint presentations. We all hate doing them. They are a giant waste of time. Why are we doing them? Because Sr management DEMANDS them. Also, look at any LL job posting, must be able to present to management. Sr management are nothing more than preening peacocks that care more about Lording over people than actually leading. Until they tell them to quit with the PowerPoint nonsense, we will be doing them because they have no knowledge about anything and depend on them.

Those cuts are spot on... Let the rebuilding begin and raise the stock price! Here's to useless zoom calls and much to do about nothing. It's the product that matters!

@tis

A lot of what the OP said is true. Too much company time is spent on useless PowerPoint slides and meetings. This is very true. Been there, done that, I'm glad to be on site and hands on product.

However the SRD will be more about who's not in the friends and family protection plan.

Have you looked in the mirror and been brutally honest with yourself?
