Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Favoritism is out of control

Can somebody let BofA managers know that blatantly favoring some employees over others is not good for the team or the company as a whole? Favoritism destroys team morale and it ends up creating resentment and a soul-crushing work environment that destroys productivity. Cut it out already! When some of us have to do double the work because managers' pets barely lift a finger, you know something is very wrong with how things are run.

This type of behavior has gone on for years at BOA. I have seen bufoons promoted to leadership positions that don't know there azz from a ho-e in a wall. I can't believe this bank allows non-english speaking mutherfockers get leadership positions. This environment is frustrating and toxic. We need real leadership here.

I voted at the recent shareholder meeting, declined all recommendations for new board members and voted against the compensation package.

Just one small fish doing my part

I voted in all ways against the recommendations

I once read in a book, I believe it was called “From good to great”, where a case study company, all the way from the sales man to the CEO all got paid the same. The success of one was woven to all employees of the company, where one succeeded all benefited and where one failed, all shared the burden.

Do you think this would ever work for a bank? I know it’s magical thinking- but what if?

What do you think the average salary would be for everyone?

This is the truth, we work our a-s off for the position and tittles we have and someone new with no experience comes a long and now at the same level tittle in less than a year.

I think you misunderstood. Nobody is saying you can’t do well through hard work. It’s just frustrating when some people have to wait 20 years to make SVP through hard work when others make SVP right away through favoritism. Case in point… this was my convo with an SVP last week.

SVP in mid 40s (me): I would like the information back by the end of next week, if possible. SVP 10 yrs out of HS with no college degree: OK, when would you like it back by?
SVP in mid 40s (me): ummmm…. the end of next week?????

Not sure how you make SVP at such a young age with that incompetence unless there is some favoritism going on.

I felt the same way. Unfortunately, I left the bank only to realize it’s the same everywhere.

This is the foundation of the leadership model at BOA.
