You can get insurance through Marketplace. That's what I did. Healthcare.gov

It will depend on your deductible. The first poster probably had a $3000 deductible. The second poster probably had a higher one, or lives in a lower cost state.

I forgot to add. Leaving AIG was the best thing that I ever did. The extra expense was well worth it. Cobra generally lasts for a maximum of 18 months. If you obtain a severance package, then you can start Cobra after the package ends, when you are no longer an AIG employee.

I pay $545 per month for Cobra for myself through Blue Cross Blue Shield, and an additional $75 for eye and dental. The cost for family or spouse will be a lot higher. HR might have the answer, but more likely someone that manages the benefits for AIG, like HealthSmart. You will need to go to the benefits website to obtain this information.

Why would anyone downvote the truthful response? It's expensive. The company pays more for you than you want to believe sometimes. :)

It should be 102% or less of the actual cost.Just for health care: Anthem in New York, from what I heard from a coworker recently, costs about 2200 for family coverage, about 1500 for individual plus spouse, 700-750 for individual. Per month. It's pretty expensive, but you can also go to the marketplace as leaving your job is a qualifying event. That should probably be cheaper.
