Did anyone watch the video? It’s great to be back in the office “because there’s excitement, there’s fear.” I don’t think fear is a great reason for being back in the office personally speaking. He seems like a nice enough guy, but his workspace looks a lot different from what the average person is encountering in the new seating arrangements. I also haven’t seen what purpose his role serves in the company.

the fear part was odd for sure
He serves one role only and that is to appease crooked people in DC and make it look like Wells is following their lead with all of this Covid BS by having a company doctor parroting whatever DC says about it
It often feels like we are being managed by ill-prepared teenagers who aren’t really taking it all very seriously. (My apologies if this is insulting to teenagers.) This is disturbing, because these people are being paid so well for their lackadaisical performance.
It feels like an experiment: “Let’s see how incompetent/inadequate we can be for how long before anyone catches us. And if they do catch us, let’s deflect deny and last ditch effort occasionally give a lame apology (‘uhhh….my biases were unconscious’ 🙄) and then see how much longer they will let us keep going.”
By not having an assigned desk, it is just adding stress. You have to try to find somewhere quiet that isn’t in the middle of a team. You then have to adjust the chair, settings, and find all the cords. You must also wipe down your station. Once you get that done, then you have to remember where you are sitting so you can get a coffee, use the restroom, etc. At the end of the day, you have to make sure you pack everything up and don’t forget something. Fun times.
I understand that everyone misspeaks but I can’t believe they didn’t cut and do another take after he said fear was good. Sloppy.

His sole purpose is to be the fall guy who gets fired and shoulders the blame if RTO leads to a major health crisis for employees. Whether that’s due to COVID or deteriorating mental health. I’m sure he accepted the job knowing this and negotiated a golden parachute into his contract
What does his workspace look like? Does he get an office or assigned desk instead of the hotel first come first serve like most everyone else?
