Thread regarding Southwestern Energy Co. layoffs

Southwest mistreats it most important resource

Employees have always been the backbone of this company but it feels like the leadership has conveniently decided to ignore that. They've created such an awful atmosphere that the most talented people who've been here for a decade or more are leaving. Why would they stay and suffer through understaffing, refusal to accept any new ideas, and very little opportunity to progress? Especially when there are numerous companies that will be happy to have them and treat them much better.

Forget the potty humor. Why have they had jobs posted since late 2021 that are still unfilled and are still understaffed?

Hello. It is all part of the responsible sourced “natural gas” from our CEO COO and SVPs. When they can no longer smell it up on 5 they spread their scent on other floors. Prove me wrong. I am waiting.

Why did the janitorial staff (or maint nance) put trash bags over one urinal and two toilets on the 5th floor? There is also yellow tape surrounding the stalls. Anyone care to share what happened and when?

Spot on assessment. I was at one of our Christmas parties here in the Northeast a few years ago, and our CFO (at the time) who is no longer with us, was actually texting with his wife about “how bored he was and how he couldn’t believe he had to subject himself to these knuckle dragging hi--------s up here in PA” and how he was “above this and these people”. Was all I needed to see to understand where the current leadership is in this company at that point, it has been a sinking ship ever since.

I believe our current leadership is the best in the business, hands down. The business school acumen is top notch. The business decisions and record setting course he has us in is unprecedented in this business. What else can you say? Bill J Way is a God. We should all worship him. Period. Case closed. Over.

Just sitting in my office with nothing to do here. Drilling is so blah. Had this thought

“this sounds like the policies of the oil and gas losers from the 80's, no raises, limited expense accounts and mgmt. edicts that creates pi-s poor morale... get your resume's updated folks as this entity is going down”

Ya’ll agree?
