Digital Dollar

Question for discussion, would you support a digital dollar / currency and why?

Do you have any awareness about a recent executive order to explore this subject?

For the record, I know most transactions are completed via credit & debit cards. However, we still have free enterprise to limit full federal knowledge and visibility into all of our purchases.

There are also a slew of other reasons to only purchase with cash vs. debit/credit cards.

So, where do you stand on this subject?

Personally, I think it’s a horrendous idea but I want to hear from you, thoughts?

What would this digital money be backed by, pixie dust and unicorn farts? It sure as he-l won’t be tied to gold - not that our fiat currencies are anyway. It’s might be another version of a promissory debt - like we need more of that.

People talk about this - Now!!! call your senator and tell them He-l No!

We the people do not want any change to the financial sector this intrusive to our individual freedom and liberties.

What more worrisome the news is not discussing it so you the train will be coming in hot in the middle of the night.

If you think this is a good idea I truly feel sorry for you, you’re a complete id--t and deserve to have your citizenship revoked

I guess you either trust the Government or you trust history. For a quick recap of how great our fed gov has done here is a recent recap:

3 trillion + in Covid spending (do you feel any better off as a result of all that spending - I suspect not) and now they are asking for more money.

The War on dr-gs (failed!) - states are now legalized and taxing heavily because it’s likely more profitable for them on taxes vs. congressional budget - but don’t forget how much as been spent already - (likely Billions)

TARP - bailed the too big to fail banks out of insolvency and yet had money to kick huge bonus out to top tier executives

Weather / Climate change - carbon tax - do you foresee anything here really benefiting you and I? Meanwhile geo-engendered programs have been moved mainstream to reduce solar output and or cloud seed and do you really think that is beneficial to our Earth? This has been going to on since the Vietnam war

Welfare program - encourage those to rely solely on the government for assistance and does not encourage short term assistance (I cannot fathom how many hundred of billions of government waste is spent here)

Inflation - let’s pass more government spending programs and we promise it won’t impact more inflation (yeah right Joe)

After just a few examples that come to the tune of hundred of billions and trillions of dollars you still think digital dollars will help you in any way shape or form?

Bless your heart!

Just say no to the digital dollar. It makes it easier for the government to steal from you. Just push a button and your money is confiscated or frozen.

Not sure why you're posting this here, but I'm bored and will bite.

I'm absolutely 100% against money that I can't spend without there being a record of it somewhere. The last couple decades of security breaches have proven that the only way to guarantee that your personal information is safe is for it to not be out there in the first place.
