Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Pay question

I know that someone had posted awhile back on this topic but I can’t seem to find it.

I currently make $9,000 less than the minimum listed for my role. How is that allowed? Isn’t the “minimum” just that? The “minimum”? With the job architecture I wasn’t sure if they would bump up my pay but now it’s looking less and less likely. If I applied to the same role in my department I would make more money just by the nature of the “minimum”.

I feel like something needs to be done about this, I can’t be the only one?

*Ps i use minimum in italics because it’s not actually the minimum, my pay is the minimum lol

Wells does give mid year reviews/ and raises. Speak with your manager about getting one but do it soon like April mid years are in June hit your July check.

I didn't take any offers recently. However, many employees are paid below the pay range (e.g. max - min, 155k - 110k) listed in current job requisitions for the employees' current position, same location band. Forget how far we may be below the secret mid-point, but even the difference to minimum (like 9k) is significant for many college educated analysts, consultants, etc. Are we supposed to ignore this?

Know many ranges were increased as part of HR overhaul / Workday migration, but the employees I know to whom this applies are meets and above, value-add, etc. Good, solid employees are paid below the listed range for their position as of January this year. Just ignore? Hard to do with attrition putting plenty of reqs out there offering a minimum more than employees are making, who have a couple years worth of WF job specific training and newly gained institutional knowledge.

@wkt

Just base salary, i.e. Salary Range is 80-95k and i’m at 71 (all before bonus, etc.)

Would I just tell my boss that I want to be brought up to the “minimum”?” What if they say no?

In American English they do, but often in other places - including British English, periods are often outside the quotes.

Yeah, grammar and punctuation is only for high school grads.

On the range, are you looking at the TVC range or just tye salary range? Maybe it's made up in your bonus. I would argue though if it's not because $9k is not chicken feed. It's not life changing, but I'm sure nobody would complain about an extra $750/month

I agree with previous post. You can request an “off-cycle” raise. Meaning, it isn’t during performance reviews/bonus payout.

Also, note to literally anyone reading this since it seems to be a widespread issue. Quotations go OUTSIDE the punctuation, even at the end of a “sentence.” <—

Why does everyone do that? How do most of you not know this?

The minimum is $0.

This should have been picked up last year during HR’s review. I would raise to your manager and request a salary adjustment. If they don’t give you one raise to HR.
