Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

I hate RTO, but I hate the alternative more

Let's face it, as soon as the global situation stabilizes (and it will stabilize at some point, be it in a year or five) management will sit down and take a good look at all the positions that were done 100% from home with no issues. Then they're going to outsource those positions to people who will earn a tenth of the pay but will do the same amount of work if not more. If you don't think this is possible, think again. WFH will turn out to be a goldmine for them, once the situation calms down and they can start laying off people again without government/public scrutiny.

The bank layoff employees and outsources positions, then things go horribly bad for business, customers complain things keep going horribly after a year or two customers are leaving and still complaining the bank realizes this was a bad idea and moves position back to the US on a new set up location with brand new people spends more money to retrain and new location costs and then they do it all over again . We have seen it done over and over and over, Hahaha, sometimes it is funny to see how the same old people keep doing the same thing and never learn from their mistakes.

Meh.. not convinced. They’re not stupid- they’ve known many jobs could technically be done from home, they just prefer that we do them from the Petri-dish cubicles. HR folks have offices, so what do they care if the person 26 inches from me is coughing their @ss off and can’t work from home without being told they need to burn all their sick time. What a joke.

Until the customers complain about sub-par service and management has to re-shore the roles (again).

We've all been thru this Fortune 500 dosey doe multiple times.

There are advantages and disadvantages to off-shore talent. These have already been positioned and executed where they make sense. BM was WFH yesterday. Does this mean he will be outsourced?

This scare tactic has been around for years. If they bank or any other employer wants to outsource to make money for share holder they will do it with/without WFH.
