Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford stopped hiring talented people for a while now.

Don’t get me wrong, I am as pi---d with the way things are run at Ford as much as the next guy, but could we have really expected anything better with the way Ford treated and treats its employees?
Talent and knowledge have stopped being a condition for a job at Ford for a while now. Aside from that, Ford lets its current experienced and knowledgeable employees go too easily. When these two elements are combined the current state of affairs is something that was bound to happen.

When you decide to use DEI standards to hire in vocations that are majority white male, your hiring will become inferior. It is simple statistics.

A college degree isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially within the last decade.

DEI is may have noble intentions, however as the saying goes: The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

I work with an LL5 who doesn’t even have a bachelor’s degree. Kicker is, this person used to be PS. Last year, EC hired the person as an LL5. Also work with an LL6 who was hired in right out of college with no practical work experience, although they do have an associates degree. Not so sure how Model e is going to be successful if they keep hiring unqualified people. Quality will likely not be job 1.

DEI is supposed to make everything better. I saw it on the atFord home page many times now.

So, the OP might be wrong here.
