I wouldn’t join any of the “Control” functions with any plan other than to get a big pay bump and a 18-24 month stint before jumping off a sinking ship. They are a mess and with their current mandate are a temporary at best function once RCSA actually gets on track without a major overhaul. Leadership and overall direction are disjointed at best.

Tech Control. As in tech control.

I would be a little concerned joining mortgage or the investors. Other than that, I think the ships sail pretty straight. Don't be too quick to believe all of the negative tech talk you see on this site. There are a lot of good people here in tech and hiring has continued at a good pace where and when needed.

What are these 5 business groups you speak of?

WIM, CSBB, Consumer Lending, commercial, and (? can't remember what it's called now - the other half of what used to be wholesale).

"removed Steve Ellis for being too forward thinking."

good riddance. great example of someone who had one good idea in his lifetime and managed to fool everyone into thinking he was some kind of genius

@1qhn What are these 5 business groups you speak of? Across the entire enterprise, I thought there were more than 5 basic bus groups.

As someone in an enterprise function who works with a couple hundred stakeholders across all 5 business groups regularly.

Definitely CIB, they are relatively lean and efficient compared to the other businesses and the combination of the customer base and products seems to draw better employee talent, which makes a big difference. They have plenty of problems too, but if I was going to work in 1 of the 5 groups, that’s where I’d aim.

@gsr+1fVRVG0H I've been with Wells for less than 3 months and perusing this board for about as long, so I'm almost afraid to ask at this point. But what is CPG?

I second Legal. I hear they have assigned seating so someone must value them. I have to wk outta a box and steal a desk before others. They’ve always helped our team out.

Diversity Equity and Inclusion... at least, that's what I thought they wanted us to say.

Pre-scandal it was Wholesale.

Then enterprise gobbled it up because they wanted to make the bank look too integrated to break up and they removed Steve Ellis for being too forward thinking. Now, F if I know. Everything is enterprise, so everything sucks.

There's a well known adage about switching to the WF enterprise model, when you do it, costs double and services get half as good.

Marketing is the best. Period...

The In House Agency is putting out better and more creative work than the ad agencies we many many millions.

They are Jedi subject matter experts who never fail to surprise and delight.
