Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

“RTO has been a success so far”

Was on an unrelated (to rto) call yesterday and the head of our group at the end asked about rto so my ears pricked up.

One of his directs said 99% of ppl have been in at least 2 days thus far and 96% have been in for 2 days min. Said he checked with HR to get comparable numbers across the company and almost all of the company is seeing RTO numbers in the 90s. He then said it “RTO has been a success so far”

Don’t shoot me, just reporting what I heard on a call with a guy 2 layers from Charlie.

OP is spouting total falsehood. Our team has been on the RTO compliance calls and 99% is a pipe dream.

Yeah, the problem is that when you talk about attrition, for workers "success" means people choosing to stay, and for the execs "success" means people resigning / leaving with no severance.

@owx I'm sure they're including all the swipes from people who swiped in, said "NOPE," turned around, swiped out and drove right back home.

Misread the email. It was 9.9%

"I think you have to assume that in any given week, 15-20% of people are on PTO/traveling/sick/whatever. Especially these weeks, with spring breaks across the country." Literally read that exact statement on an AMA yesterday.

But tell me you're a paid WF propagandist without telling me you're a paid WF propagandist.

"50K unique badge swipes in one week" is highly suspect. I know of at least two groups that have a rotating badge-in/badge-out duty so that only one person goes in per day. Waiting to see how the badge swipes line up with non-remote logins.

Plus, who's to say WF is above propaganda and that 50k number was rounding 35k up?

“Successful” is hard to define. Whether it’s successful or not will be measured over time and factor in things like attrition. Some are excited to go back. Others are fine with it. Still others aren’t, but are doing as they’re asked to do…..but will they stay long-term when so many other companies are offering fully remote positions? Having a large number of people following orders doesn’t necessarily mean success.

I think you have to assume that in any given week, 15-20% of people are on PTO/traveling/sick/whatever. Especially these weeks, with spring breaks across the country. I took the total number of people assigned to our neighborhood, took 15% off the top and counted how many people came in each day. We never got higher than 33% (on Wednesday) and it bottomed out at 15% on Monday.
And I heard that "50K unique badge swipes in one week" number on a CPG call, so I think it's legit.

Here in St. Louis (WFA headquarters), people are catching COVID-19 and cars are brazenly being stolen from the parking garage during business hours under the nose of security, and there’s been no communication from management about either of these safety concerns. Gives me the creeps.

Those two statements are logically the same thing - but have different percentages attached to them?

I presume those numbers don't include people going in/out multiple times per day, or to a different building on campus or the 100k employees that never did WFH during the pandemic. If so, 50k is a good amount of swipes considering many roles are following the 3 days a week plan. Probably not 90%, but it's still a lot of people.

Week of 3/14 the average daily badge swipes indicating access to a WF facility were 33,000 per day across the enterprise. This week it did increase to over 50,000 badge swipes. Again, nowhere near 90% RTO for an organization of this size.

@jdz+1fVa98nb - Made up bu-----t from the higher ups is not a surprise. It’s what they’ve propped the company up on for the last few year. Now sure why RTO stats would be any different.

Can you share the actual numbers?

That’s a complete crock of bullsh*t. I am involved with facilitating RTO and the average numbers across the enterprise for people coming into the office during the first two weeks of RTO is nowhere near the 90 percent range.
