Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

If the layoffs happen because of cost cutting……

Then isn’t it more logical that all levels of employees should be affected easily. Or maybe the management should be affected even more because they earn more.
What I see whenever layoffs come is that regular employees only get affected. They throw in a a lower manager here and there but that’s pretty much it.

This is a scam like the VZ credit card! These people are supposed to be a phone company not a finance company!

Instead it has become the woke company with no clue about what to do next.

So lets have another layoff!

all the cost cutting led to customers not being able to redeem the rewards promised at sign up.

Like everyone else, it seems, I am unable to redeem my $100 Verizon Gift Card for signing up for Fios. I got the email saying I was now eligible to redeem it, followed the instructions and logged-in to my account, but there is no "reward tile" to click on. The strange thing is, a few days BEFORE I was eligible to redeem it, there WAS a tile on my account home page that said something along the lines of "You'll be eligible to redeem your $100 gift card reward in two days!" But as soon as I was eligible, it disappeared. I tried chatting with customer service (big mistake, I know) and was told "Please contact our My Rewards specialist between 7AM and 9 PM, and one of our My Rewards representatives will be happy to assist you." But, of course, that number doesn't work. I just hear a recorded voice saying "No routes found" before it hangs up. Pretty shady business practices going on.

Verizon is a hierarchy based on relationships. If you are at the bottom of the hierarchy you are easily disposable.

It is amazing how little most of the new managers actually know about what the company sells and how it works.

Get rid of wireline and then where would all that cell tower backhaul traffic go? Wireless traffic eventually wire to go through.

Get rid of wireline and layoffs wouldn't be needed.

Those that would havw gotten laid off usually leave or retire in advance if they have already found a new job internally.
