The Board of Directors has not performed any oversight at all on Stankey or Stephenson. These two have lost over $40 Billion in shareholder value and leveraged the company to the hilt!! Three failed mergers while being awarded hundreds of millions in compensation and perks!!

To be fair, the WH-T wasn't a real CEO. That id--t took credit when times were good and blamed the worker/economy when things turned sour.
He was always there to collect his millions though & us workers went decades as the WH-T hitmain "Pope" decided nobody would get a raise. As soon as Pope got axed, Caldwell gave each of us $1,000 and an apology letter. Last raise we saw for another 10 years. Then magically we received a 2% raise but had to pay a huge share of our healthcare, lost telephone concession, and received no wireless concession at the time. Figured that raise cost us 4% or more is costs. Like I always said - the T is a POS!

I remember those days. We called him "Talks twice Whitacre" He would speak one way to the investors and then blame the workforce for all of SBC's woes. Nothing has changed.

Stankey and Stephenson will walk away with over $500 million between the two of them. Their goal was to pocket as much as possible as fast as possible!!

T is declining slowly. We have too many shares outstanding compared to our competitors, this a capex heavy industry and past financial mistakes created a drag on debt to income. Our competition is much more suited to compete. T cannot continue to spend on capex and buy back enough shares.
With 5g home internet from Verizon and T-Mobile being offered it’s never been a more competitive industry. Networks are becoming a commodity business.
RS said when we bought Time Warner that if we didn’t make this purchase we would managing decline.

It's the board. Hopefully, there will be a new slate of directors fielded up by the likes of Vanguard to choose.

Even corporations are a democracy. Shareholders will vote this April.

AT&T had survived some absolutely disastrous business decisions simply due to the annuity revenue from Mobility and Fiber. The bad news is that it can no.longer cover losses due to steeply declining margins and the need to keep up with 5G competitors that do it far more efficiently. The future is certainly not bright here. Cash the checks until they ask you to leave....

This should come as no surprise to anyone. They were able to totally wreck T during their reign. Hopefully no other company will ever have to deal with such inept CEO's. The worst part is they think they did an outstanding job leading T. If you look at the money they received, I guess I can understand their logic. Shame on the BOD!
