I know that no job is stable. However, in my case it all comes down to the fear of losing my job. Perhaps it was only a few months after I first came here that I was relaxed, and ever since then I’ve been constantly worried about whether I’ll be the target of cuts. It tires me out mentally and I can’t wait to get out of here. I just hope I'll be able to get a more stable job.

imagine complaining to get paid time and a half to work. go get a job at mcdonalds or keep crying about getting paid double your salary for working at home
I work for the Community and State area. I am the SME "Subject Matter Expert" aka lead, aka person to dump all the sh-t on. I have more work than I can complete in a day. Previous SME's had a back up to help them AND pick up 100% of the work while the SME was out on PTO. But they refuse to give me a back up. I have to work overtime 2+ hours a day just to get close (not complete, close) to getting my work done. And if I go on a "vacation" I come back to 4+ hours of overtime a day for two weeks just to catch up.. There is no one to back me up while I am out. Then they add to my daily duties that I must process claims for 2 hours a day. or else it will be reflected on my annual review. What are they going to do, withhold my 1% raise? Who cares. I recently stopped processing and just stick to my "SME" duties. This place is exhausting and I am old and pretty much done.
