What do you all think MW will have to say this week? I hope no layoffs but I always worry about MW getting desperate for another round of layoffs since he seems to enjoy them. I'll be listening for more code words like "transformation" or some new initiative to see if he's thinking that way. How will he address the anger about Returning to the office?

I think we should get rid of the deadwood management. Huge salaries and butthurt deadwood guy would be a nice touch too

I think that butthurt deadwood obssesed guy should be let go since it seems his wood is very dead and he's jealous of the other boys. He's not welcome off campus.
We lack accountability in this company. Maybe Chevron should employ a new strategy. At every annual town hall, the CEO, after giving the State of the Union speech, should remind everyone that the lowest performing 10% of you will be gone before the next “State of the Union” speech. Chevron should cut the underperforming 10% and replace them with new employees who are willing to work.
Our CTC managers already have a hard on and are starting to hire externally. Get more warm bodies in soon and prepare for more layoffs next year !

who needs layoffs when u can drive attrition by announcing rtw with short notice and in the same week let people know their raises dont keep up with inflation in a hot market.

MW would be out of his mind to mention layoffs after just bragging about the best year and having done layoffs in 2020. Surely he is smart enough to know to avoid mentioning them until next year.

Yes it is time for everyone to take credit for bringing on the next bo-m times (even if no credit is desired). Enjoy the good times while they last, but just remember the old refrain “oh lord let there be just one more bo-m, for this time I will save something for winter”.
Town Hall will be a look-back of how we've survived Covid and low oil prices, and are entering a "new chapter" in the company's history with diversity, green, and computers doing more and more peoples' jobs (as in, we need fewer bodies). This is all sugar-coating of the first chapter of the inevitable demise of Chevron.
Remember that "dead wood" you mention are people with families that need the income. I for one care about the people before executives and a couple extra pennies of dividend money.
The oil price surge will be short lived. Expect them to be cutting some more of the dead wood as required.
