Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

You do not want to work for a company you would not invest in

I thought I was totally stuck here and there was no way out. When I finally got the offer no one was happier than me. I am here for just a few more days but I realized that you should never work for a company you wouldn't want to invest your own money in. I am almost certain that there are more of us who wouldn't than those who would?

Dividends are not the way and VZ becoming just another wiress carrier that may be .0001% better sometimes makes it risky that it’ll just fade away with its ridiculous prices.

It is OK for retirees at this price, but it is going to come down a little more based on the frothiness of the fibs that have been told about 5Gs prospects. The new Redbox!

Verizon is a great stock if you accept the fact that it is a utility stock that sits there and spins off dividends as an acceptable yield. Great stock for retires who don’t want to just own fixed income assets. So if you are not retired or near retirement, it sucks.

I have sold all of my shares and will get back in around $49-$50 because you know that it is coming. This has always been a safe haven stock and it will continue as long as the dividend is safe. Considering that the globalist management ranks have no understanding of the native irrationalities of the US market helps explain why the c-suite never seems to be able to get it right at all.

As 'Me Ma' and her Ma ad nauseam would say, "If they were Smart, the Board of Directors would return to telecom form and appoint a CFO to be CEO. This generally cuts down on the amount of BS and bad investments. I use for example Chuck Lee one of the original company Co-CEOs. For him and Ivan it was about growing Broadband and Wireless and seeing the connected home and streaming on the horizon.

Alas their inheritors completely soiled their pajamas, their beds and the shareholder's returns. Just think of all of the totally foolish investments of the past 10 years that were written down or sold? The inside joke inside the house was that the company liked to "buy high and sell low!" Nuff said about that!

And while there is a finance guy in their now, his IFRS ideas are like his 5Yeee ideas, nice in theory, horrible in real practice and opens the door for too many occasions for sin!

It has been a great investment. It is one of the few companies that kept a stable price during the China Virus crash **which is why people who don't understand the markets didn't get why it didn't go up after ** because it never went down **. And the higher than average dividends provide a nice residual income.

If it is good place to work that pays well, has good benefits, and allows me to enjoy life and grow my career blah blah i’d gladly work there even if their stock was a bad investment. Good stock doesnt mean good work environment. Verizon however is neither Im just too close to my Coastfire target to find another job.

I'd buy Verizon stock. There are only 3 wireless telecommunication providers for the country, and no new companies can enter the small market. That's 3 companies for more than 300 million people.

Everyone needs cell phone service.
