People talked about being more productive when they work from home. That maybe true, because they have worked more hours. However, the hours worked doesn't translate to dollars and cents. At the end of the day, it's about making money.
Unless you're a money generator, you are an expense. And it doesn't matter how many hours you put in doing a manual tasks.
@2row, we all know the bank is in the business of making money. That's why we think it's stupid to waste money sending people into the office for no reason. Not to mention that we'd have to pay extra just to get talent to work here. If anyone here is collaborating fact to face, they're doing it wrong.
I respectfully disagree. Almost all productive people welcomed being forced out of the office 2 years ago. We are far more productive when we don’t need to struggle to screen out office aisle chit chat, loud aisle disrupting Karen’s with no indoor voices and 30 year old decrepit chairs which collapse without warning.
We view the lack of commuting time as 10 hours a week that allow us to really get our work done and nail our projects. It’s a true shame that we have no credible HR process to measure and evaluate productivity.
Everyone here must be responding to todd's internal post. It's the same complaints, i can't do this and i can't do that ... what a bunch of whiners.
Let me tell you something, rule #1 the bank is in the business of making money! If they can pay you zero, they would!
They're not interested in you. The sooner you learn, the better.

The so-called “Great Resignation” of seniors is underway. I left well aware of many key tribal memories that are now lost to the organization. Certainly that applies to many of us who have truly made a difference over the long term.
Helps you be "collaborative". I for one will not be going into any conference rooms with people who don't wear a mask.
Also no mask needed when you sit at your desk but the desk are bu-t to bu-t with one another and directly across from another. Basically making me confined to others who don't need to wear a mask but we breath the same air.
Almost no one wanted to be forced out of the office 2 years ago. But as time goes on, many are seeing work/life benefits and cost savings. So if the bank is concerned about those two points, and the job is getting done, why force the return. After all, arent we concerned about the environment? How does 40k+ additional commuters help that cause?
I'll go the first day back and after that I'm not going unless I feel the need to. I'm not worried about losing my job, whatever happens happens.

Funny the RTO post from Dr. Todd is unavailable, page won’t load, etc. HOWEVER the celebrate black history month and other articles do not have this error. Interesting….
@1rtp, and don't forget that Charlie is SOOO against WFH that he quit for a job the he does from across the country. But we're not surprised, hypocrisy is nothing new for the pseudointellectuals.
@1rtp+1fcLkkD5 - it’s not just about RTO. Read the actual comments or do you want me to break it down. Travel cost, forces vaccination and now booster, commute, lack of distancing and lack of clean air to prevent people from getting sick
You are not alone. I think many "seniors" won't be returning. We will see soon. But no worries, the clowns will take over and run the circus.
There must be some weird copy protection system- I tried cutting and pasting comments from Todd's blog and it will not work. In any event, the blog itself currently has 334 ratings with a 1.5 average out of 5 (!!!!). As someone else said, the comments are scathing and quite brave, as several address Todd personally. I would say the negative comments are winning at about an 85 percent ratio.
As soon-to-be retirement eligible, I have been awaiting to learn about the future of work. With WFH, I am in no hurry to retire, but with the current directive that we return full time three days a week, I am sure I am not the only “senior” that will now be leaving the firm, along with 20+ years of subject matter expertise.
WOW---a lot of scathing comments with many "likes" in agreement. A few typical kiss-b*tts, of course (Charlie used to get them in droves), but I am flabbergasted. People are MAD about RTO!!!
