Or will they? I dare ya.

Blue here. Most of us working at Schwab in STS are here because we could not find any jobs anywhere else. Real tech companies would not hire us. TDA surely never would have hired us. So we settled for a company disguised as a tech company pretending to be in the financial sector. We have successfully destroyed a great company like TDA. That had a great culture, good benefits, real engagement, pride of ownership, and truly technical people that knew how to get things done.
No path forward for integration much less a productive career at Schwab. Unless you are inclined to just be a yes person to incompetent “leaders”, I would jump to better opportunities. Go somewhere you are valued, will pay more and offer growth.
@2qad+1fcfu1E9 They would never tell you they are planning to lay you off. There is only benefit in my mind to tell someone they have a place at the firm long term as soon as possible.
It was never about the best talent. They wiped out TDA HR, marketing, finance, legal, and other corporate functions almost immediately after deal close. A year before HR and performance management systems were integrated.
I wouldn’t give Schwab any benefit of the doubt. Best of luck.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking...if there's no definite path forward, maybe it is best to just split, after the bonus. Who knows what the job market will be like later. And the only word we get is a Christmas email, thanks for keeping TDA running while you have not been given any word on your future here. We can understand the uncertainty.
Mediocrity does not recognize itself. That should be Schwab’s motto.
Smart people are owning their tomorrow and just leaving.
@2wgc+1fcfu1E9 Assuming nobody quits and everyone in tech remains highly engaged, it’ll be at least a couple more years anyways. In reality, ongoing disengagement and attrition in tech will buy more time on top of that. I plan to contribute by leaving. Don’t wait around at TDA if you don’t think there’s a path forward for you after clearing conversion. The job market is good right now.
@2vgb+1fcfu1E9 I'll stick around here long after I leave.. Just for you. 💙💚
Can’t wait for you whiners to leave. But definitely hoping you come back and post how great things at your new gigs. This board is so entertaining!!!! Ales me ROTLMAO. Everyone here needs to get lives. Posting on an anonymous layoff site to vent your frustrations, Priceless
This board seems really Dev heavy.
As someone not in a tech role who's job is dependent on TDA/TDAC being separate entities from Blue, I hope y'all quit if it will delay the integration by a few years.
Phone brokers, paperwork processors, Transfers reps, cash services, fraud investigation, etc etc etc.
Our jobs depend on you quitting!!
Top talent in blue? Hahahahahahahaha
Believe what you want. CTO just regurgitates what they read in trade rags and IOC is a glorified implementation team. good place to work if you aren’t outcome driven and just want to talk. If you actually want to be proud of your work, many other places to work that are more fulfilling.
@1dey+1fcfu1E9 I'm former green. Fortunately I've already been paid 37.5% of my bonus over the last 3 quarters. Patiently waiting on that last 62.5% estimated at 25k.
@1hdl+1fcfu1E9
$25K? That is a pretty sorry bonus. Typically high performs see $35K to $45K range.
People at Schwab are yes-men who react with anger and defensiveness to any form of criticsm. No wonder why Schwab's technology is inferior.
As a Green, not true, there's plenty of top talent on Blue that I have seen, in many different groups.
@1zuq+1fcfu1E9 I'm with you. This place is horrible, but the bar is set so low that it is too risky to go somewhere else and have to produce results.
Whiners or winners? Most people, at least on green side, aren’t quitting because of bonus or workload. Most are quitting because they just can’t stand being associated with the dopes that make up majority of blue. It’s just a fact that there is majority of blue mediocrity that really can’t land a comparable job elsewhere. Just can’t fix stupid.
I hate to disappoint you, but I intend to stay and just complain more.
I do not need a dare. I start interviews this week. Then you can stop whining.
Yes I'll be resigning after Chuck and Walt release my $25k.
Yes I know many others that are doing the same.
No it will not eliminate every whiner on this board.
Sorry.
I do think you’ll see people quit - but it’ll be a broad spectrum of associates. Those that don’t have a long term future in Blue will likely jump. Those that are butthurt about their raises or bonuses are also likely to jump. My best guess - under 1,000 will jump, and more likely looking closer to 300-500. While the conditions are often average, most people without degrees aren’t going to walk away from $60K jobs without something comparable in pay. For all of the talk of the Great Resignation, people still have to eat and pay for their luxuries.
@OP+1fcfu1E9 How does that benefit you?
