Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

EMCC Forum is lies, lies, lies

I’ve never seen so many lies come so fast.

Must be a new record, and it doesn’t bode well for the future of EMPS.

@1jll+1fckI6Op The board is not making those decisions. They make decisions on executive compensation, not everyone’s compensation. Similarly with PIP that’s not coming from the board. And the board couldn’t care less where we recruit from.

This is and always be an R&S downstream. Chems, we’re spotting you a 6 manager lead. Ask F&L how GVS went for them. Good luck!

I don’t know why CLT keeps talking about culture when it’s all going to be eaten up by the bureaucratic he-l that is F&L upon the EMPS reorg

I liked it when the CLT said we come to work here for our "culture".

Maybe all of you will soon understand that the CLT has very little decision making rights. The board makes all the decisions. How to pay people, where to recruit, 3% or 8%. Etc etc. cLT is told to carry the water.

The decisions we own are ours though. Culture can be what we make it collectively. Say “no” to stupid a-s directives. Go home at 4:30. Hit the gym at 4. Enjoy lunch and happy hours with colleagues. Some of you have miserable work life balance cause you are scared to actually take control of your work life balance.

"Worst forum I have been to all of the CLT are defending and not listening"

Exactly this. They spend all their time defending and justifying the way things are instead of listening to what the employees are telling them. There are valid concerns raised REPEATEDLY in a number of areas yet they refuse to do anything to address them. Or even entertain the idea of addressing them.

This fake LTx team still lives in a bubble (or pretends to do so till their retirement) and doesn’t understand how burned out ppl are to the point that they don’t give a sht because they are planning to leave this shi*y company anyways.
LTx, we all know that your hands are very tight and we also know that you’re trying your best to get good at brain washing your employees to meet your greedy targets, even though you are paying them less than competition. You are asking your employees to be empathetic and you never showed empathy to them. Pathetic ppl! Really sad for you!

That was awful. Worst one I’ve ever seen by far, and I think you’ll see a number or resignations in the coming months directly tied to how bad it was.

They actually came across as incredibly arrogant too. I haven’t picked up on that with this team before, but it was hard to miss this time.

During the forum, can see that MZ is trying hard to be transparent + show empathy but still not enough..Good luck to CLT for winning Oscars!

I don’t know how they did it with a straight face. We are competitive with the market and there is no reason to raise salaries. We don’t want to lose a single person because we can’t hire fast enough. We don’t have any trouble attracting talent and hiring people. There are no problems other than the common difficulties XOM has faced for the last 100 years.

The take away that I got is, Please everybody hang on until we select a bunch of you to PIP. You all have a wonderful future here (except if you don’t).

I am amazed at the probing questions that were asked even though anonymous wasn’t an option.

You should accept lower pay because our culture is so awesome.

Also, the parts of our culture that suck the most, and that suck way more than anyplace else (the PIP, inflexible work schedule, slow career progression) will never change and you’ll have to pry them from our cold, dead hands.

Seems like KM is having a internal struggle deciding between keeping people here and paying people just enough to stay… are these things not related???

If this forum doesn’t convince you it’s time to bail, nothing will!

The MZ lie was pretty obvious, and even he was uncomfortable repeating it.

89% acceptance rate for campus hires. Let me tell you the lies that went into that number.

They just refuse to answer the questions directly, in a clear manner, without the culture BS. They just don't want to give straight, honest answers.

KM: “We are not just trying to pay people the least we can get away with.”

And no one busted out laughing!

They all deserve Oscars in my book.
