Just saw the news abot the san diego call center closing and relocating to Tustin.News guy said they are making 40 an hour? What job titles and where do I apply? Anyone here in thoes positions with any info? Thanks

Hey newbie believe me you do not want to be a service rep that’s one of the worst jobs in the company as far as the way they micromanage everything you do!

"Act accordingly" means realize that AT&T executive management doesn't give two sh!ts about their workers. They see their workers as a liability. They see their workers as subhumans to be exploited as much as possible until the moment the company can boot them out the door.
"Act accordingly" means give back reciprocally. Do the minimum for these f#ckers. Run them out of money. Never show loyalty or go above and beyond for sociopaths that treat their workforce like this.

Please allow me explain. I'll keep it simple. The people in the C-Suite do not give a wh-t about anyone who works here. The people who aspire to be in the C-Suite do not give a phuck about anyone who works here.
The employees are just a nasty, but necessary inconvenience. If you hear the company say "Their employees are their best assets" They are lying. The company sees anyone who provides a service, but needs remuneration for said services as the enemy of profits.
Also, I have never seen a union employee receive a relocation benefit. When a union employee declines or cannot "follow the work" that is hundreds of miles away, they are considered to have "abandoned" their job. No severance. (Classic AT&T move).
I've seen management employees receive one, move their families to the new location and get the axe within 8 months.
This is the type of company we work for. Act accordingly.

Why on earth would they have a call center in the most expensive state in the district anyway? Move it to North Dakota or Nebraska. Alabama even.
These are services rep titles. We make more than $40 per hour plus unlimited OT. I don't believe they are hiring new Reps. Just moving current reps to new location. It's been at least 15 years since they have hired new reps under the Service Representative title.

If you do land a job, best of luck. However, keep your eyes open because call centers are usually targeted first for downsizing. It could be a step in the door to move elsewhere in the company after you get established.
Call center jobs move to Jamaica. It’s a horrible job anyway.
Who in their right mind would move to stay employed with T? You better get a guaranteed minimum length of employment in writing if planning to uproot your whole family for this company.
Relocation assistance is only available to management positions in my district. Is it the same there?

If AT&T moves a call center, that means the slimey phucks that comprise AT&T "management " want to layoff everyone in that call center without paying severance. AT&T makes sure the new center is far enough away that most cannot afford to move there to "follow the work". This is the type of company we work for. Act accordingly.
