Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Drop list

It started off at 70 items needed to be on it every night. Then 90, then 110, and now it's laughably 125. The sheer ignorance of our MM (or HO) is astounding. We spend an hour a day now just adding pallets to the drop list and rebinning them so we can hit the useless quota. You could triple our staff and no way we're doing 125 pallets. There are days where it's just 2 or 3 people in the morning. On top of that if we did 125 pallets on a monday, we're not selling so much that we're going to need another 125 on a tuesday. I get that people who sit in the air conditioning need to justify their existence, but could you at least not try to look so stupid while doing it. (BTW we were only doing 70 if we had good staffing on a Saturday, all the extra quota numbers we just put on the pick and rebinned :)

My club AM stocks everything now. PM only zones. Any other club doing this?

I was told the new floor scrubber/inventory controller is being cross trained to stock out 50 pallets daily. HO is still waiting for the parts to upgrade the ol Tennant!!

The home office is so out of touch. We have a term for it. "Sam's Club ingenuity". Out-of-touch leadership that keeps mucking us over.

There's a reason this company will never be as successful as Costco; but they'll never figure it out.

At our club we average about 150 per day on the drop list.

lol, the only thing we have figured out is how to circumvent stupid posturing by home office. It doesn't take Einstein to figure out the logistics of day to day merchandising. Though I'm thinking whoever is in charge of it believes they are Einstein.

They have always been clueless and will continue to be. You can't fix stupid. You can only laugh. Just do what you can. If you stay busy there is nothing they can do about it. Cameras don't lie. If they try to coach go above their shrunken heads.

Here's a tip.

Go through your steel locations, especially those nearest receiving. Chances are you have a few drivers who are not using OYI after taking pallets out of steel. Even 1 hour of hunting ghost pallets will boost your drop list by 50 easily.

exactly!!! no store is clearing out a 300 item pallet everyday. the prices are raised so its definitely not happening.

Home office and market managers are so out of touch to what actually goes on in the clubs… they either haven’t worked in a club before or haven’t in a long time . They don’t have a clue what we go through .
