Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Hey Dari-A_ _, How's your transition to a software coming along!

2017ish, Darius announced shifting Honeywell to a more software focused company. There wasn't an employee, newbie to VP's, that praised the idea. Darius failed to realized Honeywell's success was attributed to the vast Aerospace product diversity; avionics, landing gear, turbine engines, environmental controls, Inertia wheels with a small offering in software, such as EGPWS and EPIC systems. And the success of each product offering was strong talent. Darius had an opportunity to ki-l the HPD 9-black and PIP kr-p and listen to the industry to grow the company. Nope, Darius is an a-typical ego orientated CEO pretending to move a company's focus elsewhere.

For the newbies and those pondering employment at Honeywell and wondering why there's so much negativity; it's because many CEOs address stockholders about their great ideas for growth while simultaneously destroying core products and not valuing employee talent. You'll read many negative comments from folks employed by Honeywell/Sperry and Garrett/AlliedSignal. Many of us saw great success built from employee talent to destruction from CEO leadership. Unfortunate.

The transition to software was always doomed for failure. Software devs have a lot of leverage due to being in greater demand when compared to other types of work.

No self respecting dev will put up with the crushing work load, toxic PIP culture, and never ending micro-management.

The idea to make Honeywell “the Apple of industrial software” started in 2014 under Dave Cote. In classic Honeywell fashion, Dave cashed out before the real work was done and he could be accountable for the decision.

Dave had a dream of an all high-margin business, with the lowest possible labor costs; hardware (whether aerospace, controls, or consumer products) doesn’t have a place in that dream.

You get what you pay for… cheap labor results are abysmal . Then you have the scammers you pay way more and result are the same same.
Welcome to India … where like someone said the manage to crash their lander on the moon due to stellar coding and superior engineering. The Russian, Chinese were laughing so hard… India is 30 years behind then why are we using them?

India is just a source of cheap labor. Nothing more.
The moment a country in africa or anywhere else starts creating decent sw coders honeywell will go there. All in cote's book. Work flows to cheapest labor.
Work is flowing out of china now.

So unfortunate. Took decades to build Aero. Takes Dar*as_s to destroy in a few years. That's what happens when you have a CEO with a larger ego (+greed) ....

Vast aerospace portfolio... you have zero idea how the business works.
Honeywell makes aerospace money on service contracts and spares.
Period. New sales go out at a loss.

Not to mention you put a guy in charge with zero soft skills or people skills......MM sure lives up to his name and is the most self serving leader around. Look at all the leaders leaving aero, I always chuckle when they write their good byes on Linked In, not one has even called out MM for helping them in their career, now there's leadership!
