Google is mining the Internet for addresses, not WFG. I think that people who rely on Google for any sort of search are foolish. Duck Duck Go gives much better search results than Google in every respect and doesn’t accept money to spike inconveniently true search results. It also doesn’t elevate selected search results for pay.

No good reason to use Google whatsoever.

Hopefully the folks in Blowing Rock could be taken on in Boone, and keep their positions.

There may be no point in a branch to most of us, most of the time but we still need branches to all you dolts that keep regurgitating they will be gone. Wire fraud is up a zillion and smart ppl want to go get cashier’s checks when buying a home. Don’t know what I’m talking about? Ask someone in home lending/capital markets about title companies wiring funds and it not paying off the proper lien while seller and fraudster walk away happy and the buyer is screwed. Also, due to significant increases to bank scams, spoofing, fraudulent online wire setups, some solutions are for us to direct customers to the branch. Let’s not forget during major hurricanes/floods where power goes out and MPS crashes, cards cant be used. ATMs don’t function. Guess what the only option is?? A teller. Do we need one on every corner? No but they are necessary.

"Why would you go to google instead of the bank website to find an atm?"
Because unlike a lot of other methods of getting directions, Google's actually works.

I just find it ironic how our Executives say we don't need a personal presence at branches as everything can be done online, but employees need to RTO to give a personal presence even though everything can be done online. "Stupid is as stupid does."

Around half of all branches we currently have will be closed within 5 years. Times they are a changing.

Because I was traveling and there's this thing called Google maps for directions that any competent company updates constantly with locations and hours. Thanks for the tip though Charlie!

Google directed me to a WF ATM that was gone the other day, so nice job scrubbing that data WF...close a whole branch but nobody spends 5 mins on updating this?

I’m shocked. This is coming out if left field. They’ve never discussed closing branches before!

Five whole branches? What will we do?

Working at a branch is a dead end. Customers can do just about anything online or via email (DocuSign). The "old skool" crowd that likes to visit branches is a dying breed.

We can't even keep our branches properly staffed anymore, so hopefully those affected will be able to transfer to a nearby branch and keep their jobs.
