SA salary in RTP

Can anyone share an expected salary range for a SA at both G9 and G10 in the RTP area? I didn't even know there was G9 but I saw one posted.

I was given an offer for the role but located in SJ where the TC (assuming OTE) is 210k. Just knowing the bay area CoL, I am not sure it is "worth" the jump. Trying to compare this to some place such as RTP. Thanks!

RTP is cheap indeed. That buys you a 2-bedroom apartment where I live (somewhere in Western Europe).

Isn’t grade 12 a 25% bonus plan?

A G10 in NY is only going to be somewhere around 165-175 in the middle of MRR 2 so all of this about being over $200K in the bay area is total BS unless it's the total comp plan. It's only a 15% bonus plan so you better get what options you can going through the door.

As as G9, which is low experience level, you are looking at a base of 125-35k Maybe in RTP. TTC of 180k for Average and that includes your RSU's. 180k base is for G12 employees and that's in NY and Boston. RTP is even cheaper. I started at Cisco as a CCIE Collab G10 in NYC for way less than 180k base. Whoever puts those numbers in has no idea of the pay scale at Cisco. I finished a solid 10 year run at Cisco as a G12 at 180k base in the NE with a few RSU grants running. And MOST SE/SA's or whatever Cisco decides to call them want to get a new job as a manager or rep because they see how much more they make total comp.

Not being glib, that will barely buy you a mobile home (AKA a trailer) in the Bay Area. Don’t believe me? https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/390-Chateau-la-Salle-Dr_San-Jose_CA_95111_M28415-63716

@1oqg+1fh32yXx no one WANTS to live in RTP. They just do because they are poor and can’t afford to live anywhere but that third world country.

"Wow I knew RTP was cheap but I didn’t know it was that cheap! You can’t get a shack for those prices in areas that are actually nice to live in. But you pay in other ways…sh---y weather, living near red necks, expectations to sleep with your sister…"

Says someone who obviously has never been in RTP.... Interesting the migration that is happening to such a sh---y place.

Don’t settle for nothing less than G10 at $180k salary. Total comp should come in around $230-240ish.

RTP is closing, why are you taking a job there? AFAIK, no hiring is taking place in RTP, massive LR on the way. Jobs heading to BGLR.

Sorry, what I meant was that in RTP, what would the range be for G9 and G10 for a SA (especially if there are any current SAs in that area).

The 210k was in SJ only and I have not applied for the one in RTP but am considering it.

if you get a 200k offer for SA role grade 10, take it, cause thats almost high midpoint for a grade 12 , and you will be the first target for LR, but better than moving to SJ where 200k is like 80k in RTP. and yes, our houses have doubled and will get worse when Apple comes to town and brings all the smart people, but im sure Cisco will do a MMR and say they pay RTP too much already.

Just try to buy a house in RTP right now. Prices have gone up 100K in the last 2 months. Becoming like the bay area, or perhaps this is canary in the coalmine to US dollar hyperinflation in 2022-23.
