I just keep running into a problem with that..
"Hey Dino, you helped before on this can you help again "
"Hey Dino, need you on this project and can you help on this other one as well?"
"Hey Dino, this person just left, can you help out?"
I just grin to myself because they just don't know how soon the help desk will be closing. No one wants to learn just get help from others. As long as I take a paycheck I'll do a good job. Just my ethics.
Just find it hypocritical for those who hate the company but won't leave, won't do a good job (Not meaning a daily 150% effort) but take a paycheck and be vocal about their rights.

Those older workers invented your internet. Those older workers invented the PC. Those older workers developed Direct TV, GPS everyone takes for granted. Best, those older workers invented your baby sitter (Cell phone).
Younger workers developed a sense of entitlement without putting in the work required. Go eat some avocado toast and Instagram one another.
Those late-career folks built the company that feeds your kids. They brought computing into the workplace, bought you your first computer, and taught you how to use it. They were born around the same time as Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. They went to college when you actually had to sit in a classroom and take closed-book exams. If you went to college, they helped get you there. Enough elder bashing. If you live long enough, you'll be in the same boat. How long were you planning to live?
The folks i know that got riffed late all volunteered.
