Everywhere I look it's more of the same. What's the point of leaving if the only thing that'll change is the people who will dish out the abuse?

I worked at JPM recently - best bank I worked at - have worked at 4 other banks - benefits were good and management was very professional, knew what they were doing, communicated well, and seemed to care. I'v hear great thing about smaller regional banks and brokerages like USAA and Edward Jones - have recently had interviews at both for remote positions...

Small banks are safe. Wells is barred in expanding and we don’t see the asset cap lifting any time soon so….go for it!
WF is a great place to work. Why do you think most are on this board trying to not get laid off, add to that why do you think there are so many ex employees on this board trolling, because its the best job they ever had and they're still bitter about losing it.
All well paid work comes with headaches.
The problem I had with WF was the poor management decisions (tech) and the non-stop criming.
I can have a bad day at work and get over it, but knowing the bank was ruining people's lives, paying tens of millions to the people who led the bank during the majority of the crime spree (seems to be continuing but not on the scale of the accounts scandal) caused some motivation problems for me.
So I left.
The new place is just as screwed up but I don't feel like a need a shower to wash the sleaze off at the end of every day.

To the people saying "Try smaller banks"... I'm going so far away from here that I wouldn't risk even the slightest chance of a merger that could bring me back. Nope, I plan to social distance from banking all together!
if you have a victim mentality you will see it everywhere. Change your mentality and start to expect great things. It really is that simple.
Try smaller, regional banks.
Any other company in the world.
Regional banks, credit unions, smaller local banks.
Try self employment or contracting if you want full control over your work environment. I have friends that went to PwC and they will give you money to furnish your home office. They definitely don't want you in the office. There are tons of options out there if you're willing to get out there and make stuff happen.
Toxicity comes from within.
You don't make the choice to stay, unfortunately.
Then I might as well stay here and wait out retirement while trying to preserve what's left of my mental health.
