"Hi All. I'm currently working with GM (Level 7b) making around $130K including the bonus (13%). I just received a verbal offer from Ford and they are targeting GSR 8. Just trying to figure out what the offer might look like. This is based in Dearborn, Michigan location. Is anyone aware of range of salary to expect. ? (3 years international experience + Masters + 5.2 Years of US experience). Any valuable inputs is appreciated. Thanks."

Again, I think everyone was surprised with the discrepancy payment for bonus between Ford and GM.,
Lot of BS.

GM's bonus target for grade 7B (Ford GSR 8) has been 13% of their salary vs. Ford's ~6%. I didn't hear any complaints in the past.

I agree that the real issue is GM's 13% of salary target for Ford G8 level salary personnel which wound up being 26% which blew my mind.
From what I understand from a good source, this is not new.
Free Cash Flow calculation seems to be subject to special charges ie Rivian investment.
It would appear to me that Ford GSR employees are being given the business and it is clear that GM values it's working salary employees more than Ford does.
GM's profits are not that much greater than Ford's to justify this difference.
I think this has really pi---d off a lot of Fords working salary employees.
108% doesn't do it when the company has been and continues to majorly BONE us.
Makes me kinda pi---d off to be honest.

Well; better that everyone get a trophy than some get a much larger trophy for doing nothing than others that do mist of the real work get a participation ribbon - cause that is exactly what happened, L5 and above get huge bonus for doing their usual jobs (which is nothing!), while the GSR's and L6 that do most of the work were told to shove it.

The contrast between Ford and GM was outstanding to everyone I think, and caught Ford off guard - that is the real reason they gave in, as they were afraid Ford GSR's and L6's would go over to GM and they would lose a large chunk of them. This controversy is nothing new, but the disparity between the hometown autos plus the current inflation rate made for a poisonous atmosphere that had to be corrected else would have been abandon ship for many of same GSR's and L6s
