Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Wells can’t be serious

People in my area put in location change requests MONTHS ago. Today we get an email from DF saying, ‘ I also know many of you have changed locations within a metropolitan area. This occurred for logical (insert laugh here) reasons including lease terminations, building sales and a desire to co-locate employees. There will be a time to assess this further and we will develop a process to do so later in the year. For now, we will return to where we have been assigned.’ Who are you kidding with this garbage? You’ve had months to come up with some answers. Pitiful. Have some respect for your employees.

Surely they can’t be serious!

They are, and don’t call Chucky Shirley. 🙂

I did not read that part of DF’s email to be a blanket “Nope, not now” to all those who submitted the Corp Risk work location change request. Rather, I think it’s directed at the many assigned to a new location who did NOT submit a request. Otherwise, the verbiage should’ve been a lot more explicit. Further, my group’s senior management told us that responses to requests would arrive this week and that some would be granted, though generally not to those moved from location A to location B within the same city. We have a mix of folks who just don’t like the location to which they were assigned last September and others whose assigned location was changed well after the fact with zero notice to them or to their manager.

@1rzc+1fiijMFz - Any “leader” as high up as Flowers who doesn’t stand up and actually speak his mind on what is needed in this company (which is not excessive energy, time, etc. wasted on RTO), is a lemming and a worthless leader. He can pretend to be a hard a-s all he wants, but if he won’t stand up for what he believes in, he’s as weak as all the rest.

@1rzc I completely agree. I was in Ft Mill and moved to another role. I was sent to uptown. Now I pay parking and have to pay NC AND SC state taxes. I haven’t been in a physical office for teo years but have to pay two taxes bc I live in Ft Mill. I’m a gov partner and advise the LOB so I don’t need to collaborate or work with others in an office either. I decided I will not be eating out or buying $hit in uptown. I’m gonna have my husband drop me and I’m not paying CK a cent. They can all go F themselves.

I don’t think Derek Flowers supports Charlie’s push for RTO. I think that the senior leaders also have to go along with it, and both in the email, and in his town hall call, he hinted at not agreeing with some of the decisions being made.

I think leases and building sales are much closer to the real reason people are being asked to return, as opposed to “better together.” Many people will not be co-located with members of their team. Also, for people in groups like risk, they interact with people across multiple business lines and locations. Clearly we are able to collaborate without sitting near someone. Even when co-located with other individuals, how many people use Skype instead of walking over and talking to someone?

In response to the poster asking about which locations; there are numerous people in the Charlotte and SC locations that are being reassigned. People in risk who used to be co-located with other people in risk are being asked to move to the Uptown Charlotte location. Not only does it worsen the commute, but also increases expenses due to the cost of parking.

where is this happening? I get it is MN’s group (risk). What metro area and how far away do ppl have to go?

This is BS. Why do they always act like such mo--ns? You “sr leaders” have had TWO frickin years! CPG should be wiped out. There are worthless!!

This whole thing is blowing up. Unfortunately, employees are going to take it out on each other (the 9nly people they can; including masked vs. non-masked). The C-Suite probably had addtl. office cameras installed and ordered extra popcorn to sit back and watch the games begin!

Had an employee who was assigned to an office separate from the rest of my team. HR wouldn’t even consider allowing a request to correct. Only if the employee had been assigned to a city hundreds of miles away was it a ‘true mistake’ and I could request it be fixed. Total BS

It's because people moved all over the country, failed to tell anyone and think they can just pop into any building they wish.

PAY ATTENTUON. READ the new severance documentation in the Service Now portal. iF you show up to this far flung location you were mysteriously moved to you have ACCEPTED the move.

Why does this matter? Because if you can hit the 3 requirements to volunteer for severance accepting the location switch makes it NOT available.

I'm not going back until my location is updated. Without the update I tick all 3 boxes to volunteer.
