This is a complete LIE. I submitted a doctor signed meddical accommodation request and it was denied by HR. I was directly told that I will be on unpaid leave as of March 28th. If you are in this position and being interviewed by HR or medical I suggest you record it. HR outright lied to me, said they wanted to work with me. All lies. I'm not the only one that this happened to either.
The only positive thing is that everyone that is getting screwed over by this mandate will never buy another ford product ever. My large extended family drives Ford products exclusively. Not any more. They all say the same thing. "How can Ford do that to their employees? Isn't Ford a family owned company"
GM got it right
Let me translate that WXYZ article for your all:
"We are slow playing this, begging people to ask for an accommodation, because we know the minute we put someone on unpaid leave we will get sued."
And now they are screwed. Those that they forced to get vaccinated will sue the minute they back away from the mandate. Because if their idiocy, Ford has set themselves up to expensively defend against lawsuits no matter what they do. Well played, Ford. Jim and Bill should get removed for this.

Bill has probably been giving advice to his compatriot of the North and is making arrangements with the local animal shelters to confiscate the pets of the non compliant
A federal appeals court on Thursday ordered further review of United Airlines’ coronavirus vaccine mandate, calling it “coercive” and reversing a lower court ruling.
A three-judge panel in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled 2-1 to return the issue to District Judge Mark Pittman, who previously rejected employees’ request for a preliminary junction. In his opinion, Pittman was sympathetic to employees but said he was bound by court precedent, and he declined the request because employees could not prove “irreparable harm,” one of four variables which need to be satisfied in court in order for a judge to issue an injunction and preserve the “status quo” during litigation. Federal Judges Andy Oldham and Jennifer Elrod reversed Pittman’s ruling, pointing to the “rather unique” nature of the case.
“Plaintiffs allege a harm that is ongoing and cannot be remedied later: they are actively being coerced to violate their religious convictions. Because that harm is irreparable, we reverse the district court,” Oldham, a President Donald Trump appointee, and Elrod, a George W. Bush appointee, wrote in their opinion.
The panel heard arguments in the case in early January. The Fifth Circuit, which is widely considered the most conservative appeals court, initially rejected an emergency request to halt the mandate in mid-December, but granted a motion to expedite an appeal in the case after Pittman’s decision to refuse the injunction in November 2021.
United Airlines is estimated to have placed around 2,000 employees who were granted religious or medical exemptions on unpaid leave for foregoing vaccination — a measure the company argued is a reasonable accommodation to its policy. Those employees have also been stripped of their health benefits and many are the subject of a non-compete clause. The lawsuit, which was originally filed by six United Airlines employees in September of 2021, alleges that the company violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by discriminating against them based on their religious beliefs and medical conditions.
@4dla+1fj8OQ38 - It's economic violence pure and simple, the demand is unconscionable.
Liar
Not sure how many Canadians are on here. Some doctor from the Ontario government made a statement saying that some companies may have over stepped by forcing vaccination for continued employment. If this becomes the governments official statement I see a huge class action lawsuit against Ford in the future.
Many of the hourly and salaried employees only got the vax because they couldn't afford to lose their job. This is blackmail plain and simple. I know of 6 employees that were taken out of the plant by ambulance for chest pain the day after they got the vax (not sure if it was first or second). You can't get unvaxed.
Neither me or anyone in my immediate and extended family will never buy another Ford product. (40+ people). What Ford Motor Company is done is criminal.
Preventable illness? Ford UK is not mandating so WTF? Vaccine doesn’t stop reception or transmission of virus. 2 years has shown us that.
March 7th? So after saying the date wouldn't move again, it moved again!
CLOWN SHOW
Also, the amount of money they will spend fighting the impending lawsuits will more than outweigh any "preventable" illness. I quote it because the vaccines do not prevent $hit!.
The article is behind a pay wall. It says unvaccinated salary employees will put on unpaid leave for 30 days starting March 7th. After 30 days, you will no longer have a job to return to. Vaccine or approved exemption. They mean business. Remember the cost to the company can be extremely expensive for a preventable illness.
@2bba+1fj8OQ38 Exactly.
Come on PWH!!! We need an article in the FREEP calling out Ford on these mandates!!!
Ford Australia same. All unvaccinated will be on unpaid leave from April 4th until Lord knows when
Tomorrow is supposedly D-Day. They've said that if you weren't vaxxed by 2/18 then you would get 30 days off without pay, but have job protection giving you 30 days to comply. I would think that anyone that hasn't reported or isn't vaxxed without an exemption request would have heard by now about the 30 days off starting Monday. Of course, with our HR department, who knows. You might get an email at 11:59pm Sunday.
This has been a huge disaster for Ford. With their competitors not having a mandating and/or revoking their mandates, Ford looks like a foolish organization by doubling down. Mask mandates being lifted everywhere, now vaccine requirements for events being reversed, Ford looks like a johnny-come-lately (AS USUAL) on this.
Bill and Jim, pull this stupid mandate off the table. Make masks optional in facilities. GET WITH THE TIMES!!!!
When will there be an article in the Freep?
Only fair to step out without notice considering the circumstances.
Ford denied my medical exemption. Been there 20+ years. I've already found a new job that pays more. Just waiting for the official letter of offer and I am resigning with no notice. Walk in, say I'm done, and leave.
"methodically waiting"? More like realising the foolishness of the original stance and seeing it'll cost more to replace the refusers than keep them on. And if word got out Ford was desperate for people in a given area, such as IT, the candidates would have a lot more negotiating power to demand a high salary.
Ha! I'm not sweating, I'm in a high demand area with skills that aren't Ford specific. Saw that trap years ago and made sure to step out of it.

Heh heh. HR is methodically waiting, waiting all the while making you sweat for the moment to come where you get your time in the penalty box.
You won't know when or where, but when HR strikes, you'll know it.
As of lunch today, no call or email from HR.
No we didn't. Link?
Did you see the article in the Freep or News?
