Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Getting our voices hear

Although I am sure it will ultimately do nothing, there has to be something that employees can band together to do to get our point across. If some sort of third party hosted survey could be set up regarding RTO opinions with ultimately be sent to CS and his directs, at least we would be ensure they know just how much they have alienated their employees.

They don't care about us and we don't care about them. It's a perfect relationship for failure. Townhalls, AMAs and other BS meetings are just that. WFH has exposed us to a work-life balance we never had and don't want to give up. Virtual tools have proven themselves - time to move to a modern company.

Look at the culture of this place. Top down only. Nobody cares if you are happy. Employment is at will. Each of us is free to leave and find an employment solution that better suits each of us. Don’t waste your voice on people who will never listen.

Eff em. They can relocate outside of the city. They can move somewhere else cheaper. If they are only there to keep bankers hours to meet our needs for lunch breaks, then they really aren't necessary. Office work is unnecessary, and soon this will become painfully (financially) obvious.

Great plan you have there - continue to punish the small businesses that have already been driven to near or total bankruptcy by the pandemic just so you can make yourself feel better about 'punishing' WF. The stupid around here is getting out of control.

This!
I'm having a friend who works nearby drop me off so I won't pay for parking. I'll give him money for gas instead. I'm bringing my lunches, and not spending a dime while at work. I will support the places in the suburb I live in, but I'm done putting money into the city. They need to sell off that office real estate and turn it into housing instead.

@ibr must be a management tool or mouthpiece because this person did three statements in a row with no empathy whatsoever.

Sounds like a Florida resident.

Just so you know, Wells Fargo is a public company. But you knew that from B School of course… NOT!

It’s either “here” or “heard”, depending upon your meaning with this ambiguous and nonsensical grammatically confused statement.

Getting our voices HEARD?
Getting our voices here?
Getting our voices heard here?

I wouldn’t worry about voices being heard, I’d worry that they would laugh at nonsensical statements.

@OP: There's a similar vein on another thread ("what is behind this unreasonable push to shove us all back in the office...", etc.) Some of us have heard, and someone on here shared, that the reason is the CRE market. It was mentioned there's "enough people want to work from home that it'll severely impact CRE if it's allowed. Big banks can't stand for that, so they're pushing people back into offices to spend money in businesses that have CRE loans to repay."

Reposting this idea here:
If that's true, how about we push back? If enough employees would:

  • Get coffee elsewhere. If you usually like a latte or something in the mornings, perhaps instead A) make it at home and bring it with you, or B) give your money to a coffee shop near your home. Don't spend the money in near/in your office building.
  • Bring your own lunch. Not only is it probably healthier, you won't be spending money near/in the office.
  • Don't shop anywhere else (non-food places), say, within a half mile to a mile or so of your building. Keep your money at the businesses nearer your home, or wherever you usually shop.
  • Don't participate in anything in your building that requires you to spend money.

Basically, don't take your wallet out at the office for anything, unless that's where your badge is. If enough of us in some key WF locations could band together and agree to do that, the message is sure to get across because they won't get what they were hoping for.

It may not be as hard as you think, especially with inflation now at 7.5%, the highest it's been since 1982. I bet you didn't get a 7.5% raise, right? Many employees probably can't afford to spend much extra money anyway. Wouldn't you much rather support locally-owned small businesses near home on your own terms, rather than being surreptitiously manipulated in this way?

How about we turn the tables? There's more of us than them. If enough of us would Just. Push. Back. ...!

That just screams 'double down' canadian trucker-style. Ha1

Apple employees tried to band together and wrote a letter signed by numerous employees. It didn’t make a difference. I think the truth lies somewhere in building leases, taxes, occupancy rates, etc…

Their attitudes and policies will change when they've felt they've had enough attention. Or too many of the wrong people are leaving

The right to protest does not extend to private company employees, and Wells Fargo is not a union. That said, tilt away at windmills if that makes you feel better.

You ate right....THEY DON'T CARE!!! Quitting will give them what they want. If you don't want to stay then leave... I understand and support your decision and reason but let's face it... WF doesn't give a $hit for you and/or your contribution to the company. YOU get 1 life... GO fly, be free.... F this place!!!

I've heard rumblings of a mass "refuse to show up" (as opposed to walk out) on the first RTO day... probably just a bunch of fake tough talk from powerless people.. BUT - it could send a very clear message if it were to actually happen!
