The current leaders at VZ have lost the company so much money it’s astounding. They chase after EGO driven acquisitions and projects that don’t make any economic sense costing us many billions of dollars. Our 5G millimeter wave was an ego thing (fastest) but didn’t make any sense because it can’t penetrate into buildings and requires denser network. TMO is eating our lunch.

VZ leaders want VZ to be more like Apple, a growth company/stock. They hate being a dividend machine because it puts a lot of pressure on them to manage the business. It’s much harder to consistently have positive cash flows to cover dividends than it is to just talk about future.. I expect a dividend cut, the current leaders are very out of touch with workers and shareholders. They have the Socialist Euro group think and ignored employees and other shareholders badly since Hans came in. “Dog of the Dow” is the only award he’s earned.

No way Hans buys 1 Million shares right before a dividend cut.

The downvotes are trolls. Ignore them. It's been happening hard for the last couple months. Insightful conversation here. Cramer said it's a buy and he is the biggest counter indicator of them all.

It will be all about "The Yield" and the spread against the 10 year bond. AT&Ts 8%+ yield was a message from the street that their dividend was too rich.

This sounds more true than false especially as many expect the market to crater and correct much sooner rather than later, which will take the stock price down much like during the 2000s. I was surprised that the company did not cut the dividend or freeze it a while back.

This would not surprise me one bit. All of the people who were pushing for the company to be an "Aristocrat" have long since retired. It was those annual increases that compelled the company to buy out VOD.

There is an argument to increasing the dividend, since cash should be returned to shareholders if the company has nothing better to invest in. But with the current globalist crowd tossing away money on 5Yeee and Yahooo and other ego st-----g self aggrandizing 'investments' - I would fully expect a cut following T and GE.

Also remember who the top two shareholders are.

No matter how they spin it, this would be a huge mistake if true. There are many layoffs to be done before they go down this road. Also management can structure the next union contract in 2023 to achieve big savings.
