If you use a full year by june and leave in July they will deduct from your last pay the the total paid less what you earned though June.

What happens if you use all your PTO by June and leave in July?

Yes, You will get a pro rate to go along with how many months you worked minus what you have already used.

I don't recall the rules, but OP didn't give enough details. Management/Bargained for, likely makes a difference as can, resign, or retire with MR75, or which state you reside in.
California Management, a retiring employee will be paid for all time accrued.

I retired on Feb 1 and got paid for my entire Vaca balance. 240 hours.

Don’t hold your breath. It’s only February so you have not accrued much PTO so far,,, for example, if you think you’re going to get paid for 33 days PTO you are wrong

Yes, Post ID: @zuq+1flwl3uD is correct. Upon layoff, any accrued, unused PTO is paid out.

Guessing it's like most places. You get whatever PTO you've earned or accrued, maybe not the floating, definitely not the sick.
