Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

These are not employees but "supporters"

Management seems to be still hiring and promoting its supporters here, no matter how incompetent these people are, and those who are the least valued here will do the work for them.
Well I'm sorry Cisco, that may have worked while the number of "supporters" was less than those who actually do the work here. What is the ratio now of their lazy supporters to talented people doing all the work? 10:2?

Maybe it's large institutions? Churches, governments, and corporations

It's not just corporate America. It's human nature. Look at political parties across the globe and tell me if you honestly believe they're staffed with the most competent people for the job?

Yup, corporate America indeed. I had mentioned this once in one of these posts that charisma will get you FAR in the cutthroat corporate jungle. If you can make your peers and superiors like you even though they know you are not contributing then life will be on permanent easy mode for you. Heck, it's gotten me far in my career and I don't do anything.

At the end of the day, most corporate jobs are useless and people want to surround themselves with people they like.
