Mass exodus after bonus payments

Everyone is talking about leaving after the bonus, looks as if it will be a mass exodus. Is it so easy to find better options? I know people who have been looking for greener pastures for months and still haven’t gotten any better offer. I think the mass exodus is a lot of talk, no action.

The resignations HAVE started. The climate at BNYM is so toxic and negative because the EC does not care about staff, only the bottom line. We have earnings calls where leadership brags about outperforming the street and expectations and then gives out little to no raises. I will make less in 2022 than I did in 2021. Run, don’t walk. Great time to shop around.

I have not gotten a decent bonus since Arek took over. Since I am below expectations in kissing up to him , I guess my bonuses will continue to suck.

@1plx+1fmqhShL : From Fox News today: "investment management firm State Street recently announced it plans to close its two New York offices in order to transition to a hybrid work model."

I don't see a mass Exodus but I think there will be an uptick in resignations and retirements over the next near or two. Some banks have embraced remote work like USAA, us bank, PNC, Key, and many others and they will be attractive options while the crusty Boomer banks in Manhattan will wonder why it's so hard to fill open positions.

I don't know about a mass exodus, but I think anyone that is very near, or at retirement age, is seriously considering their options. It's the perfect climate for passing the baton to others who want to rejoin the daily grind of commuting in order to do the exact same work that has been done very successfully from home. This past 2 years has allowed many of us to review our priorities, and going into an office 3 days a week is not one of mine.

Err thank you Jolen for your career advice but I think most of us can find somewhere that pays just as well or better and definitely treats us better

@OP+1fmqhShL it depends on what your job is. In tech work, yeah you can jump ship and have another job in less than a month. Most jobs are totally remote in tech now. Anyone working in IT/Software at BNY is seriously missing out.

I don't get bonuses. But I am looking at all my options to see if I can retire very soon. So I think there will be a lot of resignations coming soon. If I do need to keep working, I'm looking for something part time, closer to home and in a smaller office environment. I no longer feel comfortable being on an open floor with hundreds of people.
