Does anyone know what the future of BTEC is (is there another reorg coming?) and if the moral has gotten any better or worse? I work at one of the BTEC facilities and I am curious of others opinions in the area.

Everyone playing on their phone pretending to do work will be PIP’d. Start looking now, the end is near.
BTEC is unique, there are a lot of quirky but hard working people there.

yes - always heard story from colleagues who visited BTEC and comments that the people at BTEC are lazy....maybe people take it for granted for being in the company for a long time...
Who’s BTEC?
BTEC turns lead into gold baby.
Seems like BTEC folks should be PIPed more. I went there few months ago and noticed most people went back after lunch / not working in the office.:
Goal of reorganization per XOM Gods is to consolidate the different support groups/ organizations to drive “resource efficiency”. This can be achieved via doing more with less ppl to drive structural cost down by another ~ $1.5-2 Billions.
This means a couple of things at the minimum:
- Higher competition between Upstream/F&L/Chemical resources to drive lower overall headcount. This will be achieved by another few rounds of PIPs and forcing more NREs out.
- Lower maintenance cost of commercial buildings by consolidating all support organizations/functions into one location. This can be done by either moving all technical resources to BTEC or moving BTEC resources to the Spring Campus ( likely due to lower maintenance cost relative to the Stone Aged BTEC buildings).
Good luck 👍!
