Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

RTO “Togetherness” Supplies

  • Big, blocky headphones to pointedly signal I do not want to be approached and chatted up: Check
  • Bushy desktop fern to partially obscure me from view and avoid eye contact that’s conducive to being approached: Check
  • Cardboard boxes to pointedly obstruct the approach to my desk: Check
  • New lunchbox and Tupperware so as to avoid the cafeteria: Check

Anything else?

You should wear a pool noodle hat so people know how far away to stay. Those are awesome.

Wig, fake glasses (or contacts, if you wear glasses) and facial prosthetics. Those annoying colleagues you’ve had the pleasure of NOT interacting with for two years - you don’t want them to recognize you now, do you?

  1. 4 stop signs and red floor tape to keep a 6 foot radius around my desk.
  2. Air purifier (which I will have to carry back and forth from my house because anything that’s not locked down gets stolen.)
  3. Practice a deep wet cough followed by a sneeze for anyone who comes in too close.
  4. Standard sage advice to all WFC employees: Keep your head down, don’t make eye contact, and don’t volunteer for anything.

G-n range noise blockers are extremely effective. I used them even before covid.

I’m fiddling around with a dog whistle app on my cell phone. I’m trying to calibrate it for a hissing sound that’s barely out of range of conscious human hearing, but subtly capable of deterrence if somebody approaches.

My main quandary: Since it’s not safe for people to be in office buildings, I’m inclined to mask up. But I don’t want people to think I’m unvaccinated. This is a competitive organization and I really don’t want people thinking I’m stupid. So I guess I’ll forego the mask and hope for the best.

I’m bringing salad so I don’t even need to use the break room microwaves.

Microwave popcorn
Fish/Seafood to reheat in the microwaves
Wipes for your bu-t as the cheap toilet paper may cause inflammation
Get ready to play musical beverages with the items in the fridge. Not stealing them, just moving them around from the original location

Oh, air cleansing plants would be a great idea! I don’t think we have any rules on a limit. pokes head through bushes to make sure the coast is clear
