Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

The beatings will commence until moral improves.

Corporate demand of blind loyalty no matter how bad you’re treated or overworked you are, is becoming a dying dinosaur. I’ve always thought it was weird that you are so bought into the corp buzz word rhetoric that “this is the best place ever to be at and I’m so grateful to be abused beyond the pay given” cult following is unhealthy.
ITS A FREAKING JOB!!!! A means in which to pay the bills and let there be no doubt you are a commodity to be used, traded or discarded at will. So, why not treat your employment the same way. It’s a way to pay the bills and yes, there are other ones out there that do the same that this job can be used or discarded at will.

I’ve not heard about a lot of layoffs…..but then again, why bother when attrition is so high. Somebody up the chain of command has to be asking the question as to why.
If you can’t offer that many perks, you make up for it in pay.
If you can’t offer the pay, then you make up for it in perks.
Citi perks, only one that I can think of, work from home…oh wait….that’s going away….nevermind.

Welcome to a bureaucracy! It doesn't matter if it's government/corporation/another entity, you get nothing but a soulless job built around administrative tasks on top of administrative tasks.

A Citi employee has 20 metrics that they are measured against. If the overall rating is not good, then you are let go. Ok, fair enough I guess.
A CEO has only two metrics: 1.) Bring in revenue. 2.) Make the stock price rise. Ok, here we are waiting. I have no idea what it takes to run a multi trillion $ company but then again, I’m not being paid 23 million per year either to figure that out, so there’s that.
Cracking the Citi whip is running people off to greener pastures.

Agreed. I don’t see how blind loyalty benefits anyone but the company itself. I admit, I can see it and understand it more if the $ is there. If the $ is not there, then no. Work just hard enough to keep from getting fired. The more you get paid, the more you should give in effort. I think that’s what has so many people upset over Jane’s pay vs company performance. There’s no discernible plan to bring in more revenue that anyone can see and the stock price is flat compared to other financial institutions but yet she gets paid $23 million….um….for what exactly?
