I hope they don't plan on moving any heavy manufacturing or energy-intense activities there. Power generation and distribution infrastructure in PR is antiquated and inadequate.

Turn your masters in to the IRS under the Whistleblower program if you have proof that this is just a tax play, which is probably is.

Aero has been moving operations to lower cost regions for going on twenty years now and it's still an ongoing process. There's been approximately 20,000 jobs moved out of Southern California and Phoenix alone in that timeframe. Another 200 jobs going to Puerto Rico is an insignificant blip on the screen in the grand scheme of things.

You don’t move everything at once. So when you say this article is false, I really don’t believe it.

It takes time to move the whole entire aerospace division to a new location. They’ll do it in phases. When they’re finished moving Arizona. Then maybe at the end of this year or next year. They close down another facility of aerospace. They will keep doing this process. Until all aerospace is eventually moved to a really low cost region.

Think about it. This move saves them $500 billion in three years. So let’s use this as an example. Let’s take Minneapolis for example. If they moved us to Puerto Rico, in three years. They probably would save at least $1 billion. Maybe even higher.

Obviously you guys have never played poker. Honeywell version of the game. They’re gonna show you their hand. They have a royal flush. Spade high. Yet! You continue to play the game.

It’s time to get the he-l out of aerospace. I’m definitely looking for a new job. I guarantee it will happen to Minneapolis Minnesota location. I just don’t know the date and the time.

Leave while the economy is still good. Wait too long. If we happen to go into a recession, I don’t know what the heck you’re going to do.

Will work fine until they have another hurricane.

It's just another tax loophole for Honeywell. Read that PR passed some law and now a lot of corporations are "moving" there to take advantage of a lower tax rate. Gamesmanship at its best.

It is Aero Americas Aftermarket and it is happening. Contract with PR signed.

Title is a bit misleading. And I couldn't get the link to work, but here is another one.

Sounds like it's the Aftermarket Americas group. Also sounds like the current exce leading the group will be moving to PR to lead the effort. Will be interesting to see if that actually comes to pass.

Some things are all making sense now. I recall some reshuffling in Aftermarket Americas awhile back, and at least one director was left with very few reports. Was surprised to see him keep his director role, but I wonder if this move was already baked into the cake. No need to lay people off any pay unemployment when you can just move their job off-shore, and force them to quit.

I'm sure some will make the move, but the majority of folks with house/kids/etc in Phoenix aren't going to upend their life to go live out in PR.

The deterioration continues.....

Nothing new. My site (areo) moved test equipment design and test circuit board build to PR a few years ago. Most of the folks that I deal with there do a pretty good job.

OP needs to read a little before making such a stupid post

Like any individual footstep it is small and insignificant.
Added to all the other footsteps and you can see the destination ahead.
Honeywell is shrinking and all work will flow offshore to the cheapest labor force available.
It will go to PR for a while and then on to malay and cambodia and africa .. wherever is cheaper.
Export controls are just a temporary roadblock.. as most of honeywell's technology is so old the controls are timing out.. even on aerospace navigation and guidance products.

@vwrz: Well stated and then someone like the OP posts "all of Aero is moving" without understanding what is really going on.

Too many articles with too much incorrect information. It's only the aftermarket group, around 300 jobs, will be moving to Puerto Rico.

But the sky harbor reno continues, all others can either be moved or stay in shambles

@erg: Read the article. It's just a part of the business division of Honeywell Aero that is moving to PR and not all of Aero as your post suggests. The Aero manufacturing sites are not going anywhere at this time other than the rooftop consolidation projects.

What's really funny is that Mad Dog said it wasn't about the money. I almost did a sp-t take with my coffee as I laughed out loud. This guy is so deluded, he believes his own lies. Does he really think we haven't already figured him out? He's almost as bad as DA.

Interesting article but it does not state all of Aero is moving as the post title suggests, just a very small part of Aero business operations involving adding 100 new employees in PR. Yawn.
