Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

NSI %

Heard during a Chemical call today that NSI % was still being worked. Makes you think this is a layoff % and not a performance % since so much thought goes into it

If anyone thinks nsi is not a layoff, they are clueless.

After today's Investors Day meeting, "STRUCTURAL EFFICIENCIES" is the code word for 8% NSI until we save another $4 billion.

https://corporate.exxonmobil.com/-/media/Global/Files/investor-relations/analyst-meetings/2022-ExxonMobil-Investor-Day.pdf

Notable highlights from the public investor's day webinar were:

• Achieved $5 billion of annual structural cost reductions through 2021; additional $4 billion expected by 2023

• Leveraged prior reorganizations to deliver structural reductions of $5 billion annually through 2021

• Holding base operating expenses flat

• Aiming to more than offset inflation and growth

• Advancing structural initiatives to further improve cost position

PIP 8% of Executives every year. They can make huge mistakes and lose EM Billions of dollars and get Millions in bonuses.

When our VP left the company, his secretary covered for him by going to other VP’s to approve the documents that we required. We could have prospered for years with the Admin doing that for us but then they assigned some sponsored id--t to be our new VP and he had to stick his fingers into things he knew nothing about.

I am ex Supervisor before they move me to individual contributor role end of last year: in summary

  1. 8% NSI is based on the assessment group. If your group is small, it will be combined with other group to meet the minimum number of people
  2. for each assessment group, the minimum number is 30 people; meaning to say they will be 3 employees to he classified as NSI for each assessment group
  3. take note that NI+NSI should be around minimum 13%. So, those under NI will be treated similarly like NSI unless they employed by EM for certain duration
  4. Most NI and NSI will be offered PIP or PIL (depending on country).

What I heard right now is the % remain the same. Good luck!!

It will be 8% for the next three years unless oil prices drop, in that case it will be longer than three years. The PIP is to improve your performance, clearly it is not a layoff. 1-2% raises for the top 10%, 0 for everyone else. On the bright side, making less money (adjusted for inflation) will make you a happier and more productive employee.

From a legal standpoint, a 3rd round of 8% NSI ratings is required to cement this being a performance program vs a layoff. I’ll bet we don’t do 8% in 2023.

So have we reached the 8% mark yet?

@kor+1fwNBgdY Wrong. Supervisors have to put 8% in NSI. Supervisors can’t say 0% NSI.

It seems that legal has determined 8% to be the highest % for The weaponized PIP system.

Anything above 8% could be perceived as a layoff.

Expect 8% average.

Development Planning 0% so other groups make up for that.

To answer to the first replay. Who do you think that choose people to be layoff, NSI or PIP? Do you still believe in fairy tales? It is your SUPERVISOR or YOUR MANAGER. Those are the one who choose the people to be NSI, layoff or PIP. Neither HR or people on the Top. HR or the CEO send the order how many people needs to be terminated, but the ones the choose the names is your boss. Sad but True.

NSI % should be a product of each supervisor’s evaluation of his reports and if any require a formal stewarded improvement.

Announcing an NSI % target prior to any evaluations indicates a layoff.
