Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Workload not divided fairly

Too much work, too much overtime, too little rest. On the other hand, some here almost brag about milking the cow and working the bare minimum. Obviously then the work is not well distributed?

The ones that don’t have much will be doing installs. That is all. Attic's are cool this time of year.

My experience, the ones who have a very lite work load are the ones targeted to be laid off. Be careful.

Say less and do less. No incentive to do more. You get the same bonus whether you exceed or meets, keep that in mind. The promotion or new title carrot they hint at is just a lie. Milk this place as long as you can until you can find something better. Like you I was overworked to death, tons of hours, expectations. When I quit trying to do a great job and started saying very little in meetings, I got less work. I keep busy and do a good job but heck with ki----g myself anymore. For what?

In all honesty I have found the more and harder you work, the more is expected of you. They start relying on those who do their part while many times ignoring those who don’t… because a PIP is a lot of work.

The harder you work, they harder they will work you. Do your job, but don’t ki-l yourself doing yours and someone else’s. You’ll never get caught up.

Make your boss deal with those who aren’t doing their share. Don’t miss out on your life runnings til you die.

One would think the Wire Techs would be raising sand with their union & the company about the Digital Techs doing their work for a lot more money & benefits.

It all depends on the state you work in. My state just happens to have very little work at this time, but management says it will get busy as they've been saying for the last 14 months or so.

Your employer never promised you fair work distribution.

You seem weak, pathetic, and you seem to care.
You'll never make it here.
But run, run, run, til they "surplus" you.
I've 75 hours last week and maybe worked 10.
Not my job to find work.
McDonalds will keep you busy, go there.
