Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Are we going to follow the example set by BP and Shell?

Or am I going to have to start hiding where I work? I'm ashamed of this company right now.

No we’re not. There is an active posting for a new commercial manager based in the Moscow office……
And BTW Shell is also a participant in CPC

Ahhhh. Good ole Yanks. Were you ashamed when the USA bombed Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yugoslavia, Vietnam, etc, etc? All the same. Abysmal education system and still thinks you top of the world. Not even smart enough to understand that it’s your own country pumping out the propaganda.

A little bird told me there have already been two emergency BOD meetings on CPC. They are changing underpants frequently.

I bet BP and Shell shareholders are ashamed that they didn't buy CVX instead.

'Do nothing. Hope it blows over.'
Sounds like typical chevron turn a blind eye unless Mw's sacred stock price is at risk. He does not care about the suffering of innocent people or for that matter the rank and file employees.

The other half of humanity will have to deal with 600 million climate refugees by the end of the century (conservative estimates from the UN), deal with autocratic regimes, deal with war everywhere.

Exxon beat us to the punch on Russia divestment. CPC (and TCO) may be next.

Half of humanity? What about the other half? Are they moving to Mars with Musk?

I am ashamed to work with YOU. And I’m proud to work for an American energy company that has high standards and strong values and works hard to make the world better every day.

Turn in your notice and go work for BP if you feel that way.

BP and Shell are going totally green and look for any excuse to divest themselves of oil and gas properties without drawing the ire of their investors. When I worked for BP they had a slogan that BP = beyond petroleum.

I would recommend leaving. The latest IPCC report came and it makes clear that half of humanity will be negatively impacted by climate change. I left some time ago because my values were no longer aligned with the company. It was the best dicision I ever made.

Cvx does not have the moral backbone to drop any holdings they have in Russian interests.
Mw too afraid if the impact on his share price.

The CPC is just a way to export Kaz crude. With it we lose TCO.

CHEVRON
Chevron has a 15 percent stake in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), a pipeline that runs from Kazakhstan to a Russian Black Sea terminal used for Chevron to export its crude. It also operates other subsidiaries that partner with Russian companies.

What assets or partnerships do you think we need to divest from, OP? I'm not aware of any current operations in Russia...

Um, they are actually following our example. We fled Russia after the Crimea annexation, our tails between our legs.
