Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Not going to work until we exit Sakhalin. 25 years is enough and if we stay all new investment will be lost

Sure none of the robots at EM will join this. Can’t wait to see DW throw a tantrum at IR day about beauty competitions and dictators… once again our peers have us beat….

I know this is an old dead thread.
But I saw one entry down below - equating A&M and LSU - that simply goes over the line.

LSU fired our champion but fascist coach quickly.
Aggies hang on to losing causes till the cow don't milk right any more.
Then they sniff it's glue.

This ‘truce’ guy is in multiple threads. Do you really think Putin does truces?

This is why our company cannot seem to make a statement. Some of them think this is a good ole game of ‘capture the flag’ and everyone is going to shake hands at the end. Clueless. I bet Russia loves doing business with us.

Is it so hard to stand in solidarity with a nation that was attacked by the USA’s biggest rival? Must be the best and the brightest from A&M and LSU on here. MARA!

It would be nice for everyone that followed that thought pattern to just stay home.

Better option is not abandoning but just shut down production and wait for truce.

Keep ownership through the crisis. Keep employees through their crisis.

Any person thinking of outright abandoning that asset and employees outright immediately is just ignorant.

Leaving Sakhalin would be stupid.

BP and She’ll only ownered percentages of operations.

EM operates assets with thousands of Russian employees that are going through a very hard time.

Do not abandon our fellow Russian employees that do not want war and cannot get money from their banks to buy food for their families.

I think it's time employees put pressure from inside on top brass to release a statement. We have colleagues in Russia and Ukraine, customers in Russia and Ukraine. Not a peep from the corporation to support the peace effort. Not a peep to explain why we can't rashly just leave - I strongly believe that our colleagues cannot be just left behind. Dallas showing it's true colors once again.

"BP Plc will exit its shareholding in Russia’s largest oil company Rosneft PJSC, potentially taking a financial hit of as much as $25 billion". If you have worked for EM for at least a year or two, do you honestly believe EM will quit Russia now?

Just leave then.

Sakhalin is a cash cow - abandoning our equity while a ceasefire agreement is imminent would be shortsighted. Also if we wanted to exit we should have done it over the weekend, not in response to what our competitors do.
