I know of at least 40 people who got let go since September, lot of them recently in February. All making 6 figures and very good at their jobs. Mostly white males in there 40s/50s. London also hit fairly hard.

Older white males are the only group against which large corporations, particularly banks, can and do discriminate against with impunity.
Good luck with our replacements. I mean that sincerely… hopefully someone steps up and it is most likely to come from India, Poland and quite likely from Ukraine.
I’ve had to do that at two major banks. This has been going on for 30+ years and the trend is towards more of it.
@2mzp, that is illegal.
I was told I had to hire a minority candidate over more qualified applicants. She was terrible at her job and quit within 6 months.
The Bank staff actions have been ALL about race and other non-job related target demographics. Talent, education or ability all take a distant back seat to DEI.
Unclear how to be clear. If you are paid well and a white man you are on the chopping block. If you are a diversity candidate (woman, minority, trans etc) you will be hired regardless of your qualifications. Good luck .
agk+1fyIFued How can wrong skill set be applied? They hire people for roles that require skills if a person has been there a while they have visibility and a useful skill set…so I don’t think that is a good answer.
Only white males where promoted ti MD at Pershing this year.
So let’s hold off on the pity party.
No, they go salary. This often means the people who have been there the longest, and some of the best a company has. They simply don't care when it comes to making cuts.
Being mostly older white males is just a happy side effect, for a company learning to be 'woke' in the 2020's.
Of course race has to do with it. How else can we become a diverse corporation?
hear they may being after Russians now
Race has nothing to do it. Mostly wrong skillset and lack of 'visibility'.
